The role:
As the Research Manager, you will be supporting the development and execution of key research projects within the Intelligence team, assisting the Research Directors in managing on-going tracking projects, generating actionable insights from various data sources as well as managing the research tools and day-to-day communication with internal stakeholders and clients.
Core responsibilities:
Manage the day the day running of ongoing tracking projects – from set-up, through execution & delivery, to final stages and reporting
Prepare research reports and communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders
Manage the full scope of research projects from start to finish
Contribute to the design, development and packaging of intelligence products
Creating training modules and materials to train internal staff and/or other departments
Working through internal data sources and secondary data (both quantitative and qualitative) and how it can be applied to effectively to address research questions and leverage outcomes
Interpret data, write reports, and make actionable recommendations
Fostering meaningful relationships with external suppliers
A bit about you:
Q Research experience (essential)
Minimum 3 years’ experience conducting quantitative primary research, including scoping objectives, developing methodology, questionnaire design, manage fieldwork, data analysis, reporting and presenting results
Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret data from multiple sources (quantitative, qualitative, secondary, syndicated, etc.)
Exceptional written and oral communication abilities
Strong attention to detail
Strong knowledge of basic statistical methods and strong analytical skills
Strong understanding of quantitative research techniques and methodologies
Working knowledge of survey software tools (Desired but not essential)
Good visualisation skills (Desired but not essential)
Media knowledge/experience (desired but not essential)
SPSS experience (desired but not essential)
Bachelors or advanced degree in marketing, statistics, mathematics, or related field

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Outcomes Research (50% of time)**
You will work closely with the Head of Real-World Evidence team to design local clinical trials and studies using secondary databases to evaluate the real-world effectiveness of our products. Your responsibilities will include:
+ Designing prospective studies that collect important health outcomes and patient-reported measures aligned with strategic goals.
+ Collaborating with business partners to develop evidence generation plans that reinforce our product value propositions and support market access.

Your contributions will support the New Zealand Team in developing reimbursement submissions for the New Zealand J&J portfolio. Among your responsibilities, you will:
+ Support the development of robust reimbursement and pricing strategies and coordinate the development of payer submissions for J&J NZ product portfolio, including new medicine applications, multiproduct proposals, and requests for proposals for in-market medicines.
+ Conduct analyses including building financial models to determine pricing and access strategies for J&J NZ portfolio to seek national reimbursement or maintain reimbursement in NZ
+ Work closely and partner with regional and global market access and pricing colleagues to ensure pricing and reimbursement strategies navigate successfully through internal processes, and align with global value policies.
**ABOUT YOU**
+ Post-graduate degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, any Biomedical Science discipline, Public Health or related field is desirable.
+ Preferred related industry experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry & minimum 2-year experience in health economics and/or pricing
+ Must have understanding of clinical research process from program planning to publication.
+ Good oral (including presentation) and written communication, project management, and computer/database management skills.
+ Strong analytical, financial, and commercial acumen to answer business questions, develop effective and robust pricing and reimbursement strategies which are founded on insights from various data sources and market access trends.
+ Effective communication and negotiation skills: Demonstrable experience in successful communication of value strategies throughout product lifecycle in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders though the support of evidence generation, and the evaluation of pricing strategies to realise optimum value.
+ Knowledge of statistical analysis. Ability to use statistical software (TreeAge, STATA, R, SAS) will be desirable
+ Tertiary qualification in health economics or economics will be preferred

BlackRock's Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver detailed investment outcomes and innovative alpha insights. Our team of 525+ multi-asset investment professionals construct active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels. Currently, MASS handles over $1 trillion in assets and has a strong presence in the Americas, EMEA and throughout Asia Pacific including Australasia.
Within MASS, Manager Research evaluates investment strategies for multi-manager client portfolios, working closely with portfolio managers across client segments and asset managers globally.
**Key responsibilities:**
+ Source, underwrite, select and monitor investment managers focused on public market strategies on behalf of the BlackRock Whole Portfolio Solutions business.
+ Make well-researched, thoughtful recommendations on asset class opportunities and identify investment managers best positioned to capture these opportunities
+ This role is a combination of global and local responsibilities.
+ Global responsibilities include working as part of the BlackRock Manager Research team performing due diligence on Asia-based investment strategies for the global platform and clients
+ Local responsibilities include supporting the Whole Portfolio Solutions business and key clients in Australasia including:
+ Lead due diligence efforts in local investment management capabilities, ensuring alignment with the unique needs of our Australasian clients
+ Support the Client CIO team with asset class reviews including insights on the utilization of active/factor/index approaches
+ Application of manager recommendations within asset classes to optimize portfolio construction and performance (in partnership with the Client CIO)
+ Represent Manager Research in client engagements by providing critical analysis on managers & insight into the manager research process
+ Play a pivotal role in expanding our client base by providing recommended manager strategies during the RFP stage
+ Active ownership of recommended investment strategies and ongoing monitoring
+ Participate in the design and ongoing management of portfolios with well-researched proposals for strategic investments
+ Document research findings from initial due diligence and ongoing monitoring with well-prepared reports summarizing manager performance and portfolio positioning
+ Stay up to date about products and trends in the investment management industry
+ Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our Manager Research processes by proactively suggesting and developing new research techniques using our advanced technology tools
**About you:**
+ Has 6-10 years' of experience and demonstrated success in conducting investment research on asset managers that provide public market strategies
+ Outstanding analytical capabilities, which form an important part of our research process
+ Experience in engaging with clients
+ Strong cross team and firm relationship building skills, capable of adapting style of communication to the audience
+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills
+ Demonstrable interest in investments and research
+ Ability to travel if required, to destinations globally
+ Ability to work and learn independently, while also acting collaboratively as a great team member in our global group
