Amazon Delivery Services is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to support the growing volume and complexity of partnership agreements.
The successful candidate will put in place partnership agreements with carriers, be responsible for defining sourcing strategy, undertake spend analysis, forging strategic partnerships, leading vendor identification and development, as well as tactical elements such as leading negotiations, including creating proposals and collaborating with internal stakeholders (such as the legal, finance, security and compliance teams) and closing.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will need to understand the impact of contract terms, compliance obligations, business concerns, etc., and be able to explain contract terms to stakeholders whilst identifying ways to meet customers' needs. The successful candidate will lead the effort to resolve all carrier questions and concerns in contract negotiations and will collaborate with internal stakeholders on specific areas of concern.
Strategic Sourcing Managers are expert practitioners in creating competitive environments, and have a strong bias for decision-making rooted in data and analytics. They routinely influence C-level vendor relationships by advising senior Amazon leaders across multiple stakeholder groups on the direction of sourcing projects in support of business unit and corporate goals.
This role can be based from either Sydney or Melbourne.
Responsibilities Include:
- Build a repository for contract management that outlines contract renewal dates and risk.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategy to achieve step changes in cost structure, capacity and diversification by analysing and reviewing transportation capability in the AU market against business requirements,
- Identify and develop carrier partners across categories, especially with a focus on developing partners who can drive innovation, sustainability, speed and customer experience,
- Advise and provide thought leadership on the execution of competitive commercial, channel, and partner deal opportunities,
- Develop innovative commercial models and negotiate delivery services agreements,
- Execute contracts and competitive structures- maximising the value of opportunities consistent with Delivery Services objectives and requirements,
- Work closely with global partners and local stakeholders to understand the existing vendor negotiation relevant tools and contracts, and assess the gaps between what exists and what is needed in AU market,
- Build a comprehensive negotiation strategy in line with global best practice and local needs,
- Continuously identify specific negotiation best practices and training needs, and drive negotiation tools enhancement,
- Provide expertise on deal structuring and advise key stakeholders on the impact of deal terms: provide creative solutions to the stakeholder and leadership,
- Close commercial transactions: brief senior management and coordinate internal and customer stakeholders.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated capability of handling complex negotiations,
- Ability to lead partner-facing negotiations,
- Ability to explain standard agreement terms to counterparties and negotiate fallback positions to those terms where appropriate,
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor to business teams to support the strategy, negotiation and execution of enterprise agreements,
- Strong customer orientation and commercial acumen,
- Ability to drive strong cross-functional engagement with both internal and external teams,
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent qualification,
- Previous experience in delivering and influencing business processes using data analysis, modelling and forecasting,
- Previous experience in commercial contract experience and facilitation of large cross-functional teams,
- Strong oral and written communication skills- ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences,
- Attention to detail and high ability for data mining- with strong analytical orientation; comfortable using databases and analytical tools and making data-based decisions,
- Creative and ideas-driven in finding new solutions/ designing innovative methods, systems and processes,
- Ability to prepare, report and interpret large sets of data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Law degree
- Able to write SQL scripts for analysis and reporting (SQL, MySQL)
- Proven experience of working in a fast-paced, highly complex analytical environment preferably in Supply Chain, e-Commerce, Consulting or Finance

The AU Delivery Services Learning team is looking for a Learning and Talent Development Manager. This position will be responsible for the strategic execution of learning and development initiatives that support core business objectives for our Delivery Services Operations teams. This position is regional and field-based, and based out of an in-market delivery station. This position includes a monthly in-station and/or travel requirement of at least 20% between Delivery Services sites

The primary responsibilities include:
- Lead a team of minimum 6 across the region.
- Strategically assess, track, and facilitate training related programs for new and current entry level employees.
- Develop our training strategy for Critical Roles such as Yard Marshals, TDR or Learning Ambassadors.
- Drive adherence to standard learning solutions as well as getting feedback from the operational teams on areas of opportunity for improvement.

The role will be the key Finance Business Partner across Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Last Mile. Amazon's "Last Mile" delivery service is responsible for delivering packages (and smiles) to households/businesses across Australia. Our finance team closely partners to support this rapidly expanding business while building a portfolio of delivery stations, vehicles, and technology to deliver customers' packages on time - often next day, sometimes faster.
We augment our traditional "deliver by van" with other models including Amazon Flex (gig economy drivers) and more - all designed to deliver smiles to our customers.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with Last Mile business streams, Operations, Supply Chain and Customer Excellence teams to implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements
- Develop and publish regular financial reports highlighting key performance indicators and regular business metrics
- Perform weekly/monthly controllership activities alongside variance analysis versus' plan and forecast
- Ad hoc strategic analysis to drive program expansion, balancing delivery speed initiatives with cost efficiency
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA

Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that support business growth while maintaining service quality and cost effectiveness across the middle mile network.
- Managing the containerization program requires overseeing the entire container fleet operation, including inventory management, movement coordination, and maintenance oversight. This involves optimizing container utilization, implementing tracking systems, and ensuring efficient distribution across the network. The role demands careful attention to container conditions, maintenance schedules, and inventory levels to maintain operational efficiency.
- Overseeing the GPS enablement initiative involves implementing and managing tracking systems across all freight assets. This includes selecting appropriate GPS solutions, establishing monitoring protocols, and ensuring system integration with existing platforms. The role requires coordinating with technology providers, training staff, and maintaining both hardware and software components to ensure reliable asset tracking.

team is a comprehensive unit that manages all aspects of network transportation execution and optimization. Supported by different experts across Network Operations, Carrier Relations, and Program Management, the team operates through interconnected groups focusing on middle mile transportation operational areas. The Program Management drives strategic initiatives and change management, supported by a dedicated Network Optimization Team that focuses on efficiency improvements and cost reduction strategies. This integrated structure is supported by specialized functions in technology, compliance, finance, and quality assurance, all working collaboratively to ensure service excellence, cost optimization, and continuous improvement across the middle mile transportation network.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience,
