About the Role

We are recruiting for a Preventative Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to join the weekend service crew based in Wacol, Brisbane. This is a permanent full-time position providing preventative maintenance support across the packaging production department.

Roster: 9.5-hour shifts working 4 days on, 1 off, 4 days on, 5 off.

About You:

You have experience in a similar role and industry and in addition to the planned maintenance, breakdown and repair activities you are familiar with, you also have the skills to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in process, systems and equipment.

You’ll Bring:

  • QLD Electrical licence

  • Capability to work in a fast-moving, high-volume manufacturing environment

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

  • Knowledge of local regulatory and statutory requirements relating to industrial services and environment

  • Basic knowledge in electrical and low / high Voltage systems, Lockout Tag-Out procedures and Safety of Electrical Operations

  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills

About The Role .

You will be required to consult and collaborate with Divisional/Departmental Managers, and any others as necessary to perform tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out maintenance and repairs to all light vehicles, heavy vehicles and heavy machinery.Assist with the Management of heavy machinery inspections.Coordinate regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles.Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.Work with fleet manager and procurement to enable purchasing, savings, replacements and best utilisation of vehicles and stock.Monitor inventory and order new parts, lubricants, oils etc when necessary.Training and supervision of apprentices and junior labourers when required.Requirement to attend potential call outs as required.

A day in the life

Basic Qualifications
- Formal Trade Qualification: Served a full Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering qualified to a minimum of Certificate III.

- Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems

Amazon is seeking for Maintenance Technicians to join the team at our Fulfillment Center (FC) in Moorebank.
This is a full-time shift role. Please note that the current shift pattern includes 10-hour shifts x 4 days and one day working during the weekend.

- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site.
- Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out.
- React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams and work efficiently to fix the issue.
- Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
- Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
- Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
A day in the life
Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You'll carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to our sites' equipment to make sure it's working safely. As an RME Technician, you'll also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You'll also make suggestions for long-term improvements.
Working alongside senior colleagues, you'll undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks general building maintenance.
About the team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipment performing at its best. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres.
Basic Qualifications
- Formal trade qualification: Cert III In Electrotechnology OR Cert III Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Turner). Alternatively, trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia.
- Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
- Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical /mechanical drawings.
- Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
- Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with CMMS systems.
- Experience with sortation machines.
- Experience with maintaining/configuring bar code scanners.
- Experience with print and apply machines.
