We are seeking a proactive and detail driven Manager of Compliance and Safety to play a key role in driving our company’s commitment to Zero Harm and continual improvement.

This role will see you managing and developing our Integrated Management System (IMS) and ensuring compliance across Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards, ISO 9001, ISO 4801 and ISO 14001.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and enhance our Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring compliance with the quality standards, ISO 9001, ISO 4801, ISO 14001.

  • Oversee MGN Civil’s compliance with relevant safety legislation, construction codes of practice, policies and procedures.

  • Champion a safety culture with all members of the business to ensure their engagement with systems, work methods, and approach to a safe workplace.

  • Assist project management with site investigations by overseeing the reporting of hazards, near misses and incidents.

  • Coordinate external IMS audits and maintain third-party accreditations for Safety, Quality and Environment.

  • Act as the focal point for document control, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of company policies, procedures and registers.

  • Support project managers with project-specific WHSMPs, CEMPs, CSMPs and other IMS documentation.

  • Conduct internal audits and inspections across company projects, including subcontractors.

  • Assist in the preparation of tender submissions, prequalification data and client reporting.

  • Deliver training, inductions, toolbox talks and risk-based safety programs that engage teams at every level.

  • Stay ahead of legislation and industry changes, providing proactive advice across the business.

  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders on health, safety, environment and quality matters.

What we will need from you

  • A qualification in WHS, Quality, Environment, and internal/external auditing.

  • Demonstrated experience managing ISO 9001, ISO 4801 and ISO 14001 standards within the construction industry.

  • WHS General Construction Induction (White Card).

  • Training & Assessing qualifications (TAE40122) with experience delivering inductions and competency assessments.

  • Strong knowledge of HSEQ legislation, standards and best practice.

  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and a genuine commitment to Safety, Quality and Environment.

  • Australian residency / valid work rights.

This senior safety specialist must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You will instruct and train Operations Leaders in Amazon WHS policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety standards at their site. You will work to identify best practices and incorporate these standard methodologies into our standards to continuously improve the occupational health and safety landscape.
You will possess excellent safety program knowledge and be able demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations.

Key job responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering WHS on CRM to provide updates on CRM advancement
- Partner with Ops Leaders to improve day-to-day safety.
- Manage 3PL at a country level with the support of the dedicated person in Projects team.
- Providing advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.
- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies and Global Standards. Develop country level WHS procedures and processes to meet Amazon Global Standards
- Completion of risk assessments related to WHS hazards for contractors operations
- Measure sites' performance against published requirements in safety policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies.
- Analyze safety metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest.
- Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions.
- Audit record-keeping practices and Global Safety Database (Austin) entries to be aligned with global safety standards and local regulations.
- Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their WHS responsibilities under each policy.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Distribution Centre or Manufacturing EHS with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees
- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment

Your role as the Safety Officer

  • Establish standardised safety processes and audits across all centres.

  • Conduct readiness checks for new centre openings to ensure environments meet safety and regulatory standards from day one.

# Project Overview:
Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day. Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2. Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.
# Job Summary:
Bechtel is now accepting applications undergraduates in the fields of Science, Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) and Bachelor of Science (Health, Safety and Environment) to join our 2025 - 2026 Summer Intern Program located at our Energy Project (Pluto Train 2), located in Karratha, Western Australia. Bechtel's internship program was created to cultivate real-life industry interest based on hands-on experience. Many new university graduate hires began their careers at Bechtel as a student intern.
During this time, you'll see first-hand how our business works and take on tasks related directly to the construction of the project and internal initiatives, all which will give you valuable industry experience all while having a real impact on our organization. Interns work in our multidisciplinary teams, under a dedicated supervisor who will be responsible for providing you with a full and busy workload, whilst also ensuring we provide you with the best experience possible during your time with us. Interns will work a 3:1 roster and during their swing will be accommodated in the project's Red Dog Village Camp.
Our internships run as a 12-week program over the university summer holidays commencing on **24th November 2025** . This is a FIFO opportunity from Perth, Western Australia to Karratha, Western Australia on a 3weeks on / 1week off roster for the duration of the program.

We are reliable and cost effective, working hard to achieve successful outcomes for our clients by working with them in ways that create and deliver value.Golding is currently seeking an experienced Safety, Health, Environment Advisor to be based at the Curragh Mine project located near Blackwater.Reporting to the SHET Superintendent, the successful candidate will have the capability to handle multiple complex situations simultaneously and a demonstrated record in positively influencing key stakeholders. Additionally, the ability and willingness to complete other SHET tasks is a must, such as incident investigations, risk assessments, observations and assisting line managers.This role is offered on a DIDO basis from the Central Qld Region on a 8/6 roster. THE ROLE

ABOUT YOU
Certificate IV or higher qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.Prior safety experience gained within a project environment, preferably civil constructionAbility to effect change to achieve safety targets over a sustained period with a subcontractor and employee workforce.Possess knowledge and ability to evaluate and implement safety policies and procedures.Extensive knowledge of safety, quality and environmental management systems standards.Strong written and verbal communication skills combined with the ability to influence at various business levels.Strong computer and data analysis skills that extend to report collation and presentation.Ability to think strategically, considering both client and local objectives/drivers.Ability to conduct audits; investigations of safety issues and assist in developing improvement plans based on findings.Demonstrated ability to develop safety improvement plans to drive and promote safety awareness programs.Understanding of a safety philosophy and previous experience with establishing and implementing these systems in a project environment
