Job Description
The EHS Manager performs general environmental, health and safety support services, investigations and analyses and other-directed assignments. Develops, implements, and administers environmental, health, and safety protection, and substance abuse prevention programs affecting employee and public safety, occupational health, fire protection and prevention, and equipment and property protection. Serves as a resource for line management to develop and administer a proactive prevention program for accidents and illnesses.
**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Responsible for the management and performance of the Environmental Health and Safety team. Oversee goal development and provide regular feedback.
+ Conducts compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work in progress to ensure that regulatory environmental, safety and health standards of the Company and all applicable codes are followed.
+ Recommends facilities and technological specifications to carry out programs that fulfill the organization's overall objectives.
+ Prepares and reviews technical reports, correspondence and procedures manuals.
+ Establishes and maintains licenses and permits as required.
+ Meets applicable regulatory codes and standards where required.
+ May function as a generalist responsible for multiple ES&H facets on a small project or as a specialist on larger projects.
+ ES&H Specialists are expected to pursue and/or complete ES&H related professional. Participates in safety committee meetings as required.
+ Maintain health and safety within the workplace by promoting safety awareness initiatives, discussions and trainings, encouraging a safety focused culture and participating and reviewing risk assessments for those under their supervision.

**Description**
As an Environmental Health and Safety Lead, you will be supporting the successful delivery of the Safety, Health & Wellbeing, Environment & Sustainability Strategy (SHWES Strategy) for the designated site locations.
You will also have accountability for:
+ Contributing towards maintaining, improving and promoting the NGA EHS Management Systems.
+ Working with and assisting the EHS Service Delivery Manager, as requested.
+ Consulting, gaining input and engaging with managers and local SHWE Committee members on proposed changes and improvements to safety, health and wellbeing, environment and sustainability.
+ Assisting in improving the participation and effectiveness of local SHWE Committees.
+ Participating in and leading EHS audits activities, both internal and external.
+ Liaising, connecting with and maintaining relationships with external parties regarding EHS, including government authorities, legislative bodies and industry groups within the relevant State/Territory.
+ Participating in people cyclical activities including but not limited to Goal Setting, Quarterly Connections, Performance management, merit review processes, engagement survey's and alike.
+ Supporting the EHS responsibilities of site/program managers by assisting in the identification of hazards, the implementation of risk controls and monitoring the effectiveness of controls.
**About You:**
+ Diploma of Work Health & Safety / Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
+ Lead Auditor in either ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or ISO 90.
+ Incident Investigation Certificate.
+ Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
+ Current Australian Drivers' License.
+ Risk Management Certificate.
+ Certified OHS Professional with AIHS.
+ Project Management.
+ Injury Management, Rehabilitation and Return to Work.
+ First Aid Certificate.
+ Mental Health First Aid Certificate or equivalent.
+ 5+ years working in a similar or related field of health and safety - aviation, manufacturing, mining, construction and energy

It requires working with the WHS team to deliver high standards of safety within our FC. The suitable applicant will be trained in both the standard work and tools used within the WHS function. You will be a strong communicator, who values teamwork, is proactive about safety and who can function as a role model and engage in a professional manner with the entire FC workforce.
*This is an hourly role based on shift patterns:
The current shift pattern is Back Half - Wednesday to Saturday, night shift
Must be willing to rotate shifts based on business need.
Key job responsibilities
-Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly inspections
-Facilitate incident investigation process
-Maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and local regulations
-Enter Safety incident information in internal database in a timely manner
-Perform safety observations & audits
-Coach others (Area Managers etc.) to complete their safety responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, Inspections etc.)
