**Your Role:**
As a Systems Safety Manager, this dynamic opportunity will have you mentor staff as well as assisting with establishing the standardisation of process and analysis methods. + Developing and maintaining the In-service Materiel Safety Program Plan, enabling Work Instructions, Templates and Knowledge base.
+ Developing and maintaining a communication plan, agreed with relevant stakeholders, detailing the People and information necessary to achieve success for enterprise Safety Management System.
+ Providing technical leadership to the System Safety Team.
**About You:**
+ Bachelor of Engineering (Aeronautical/Aerospace) or Engineers Australia recognised equivalent.
+ Ability to obtain Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or equivalent state-based engineering registration.
+ Ability to obtain Chartered Professional Engineering status through Engineers Australia.
+ Capable of attaining or currently hold an NV-1 Australian Defence Security Clearance.
+ Demonstrated experience as a Professional Engineer within the aviation industry.
+ Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
+ Demonstrated performance, people leadership and customer interface skills/experience.
+ Knowledge of configuration management, airworthiness regulation, and certification concepts utilised by ADF and/or civil operators.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a talented Senior Safety Specialist to join our team. You'll be passionate about partnering with the Middle mile team to ensure WHS risks are managed. A successful Senior Safety specialist will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
This senior safety specialist must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You will instruct and train Operations Leaders in Amazon WHS policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety standards at their site. You will work to identify best practices and incorporate these standard methodologies into our standards to continuously improve the occupational health and safety landscape.
You will possess excellent safety program knowledge and be able demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations.

Key job responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering WHS on CRM to provide updates on CRM advancement

- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies and Global Standards. Develop country level WHS procedures and processes to meet Amazon Global Standards
- Completion of risk assessments related to WHS hazards for contractors operations
- Measure sites' performance against published requirements in safety policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies.
- Analyze safety metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest.
- Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions.
- Audit record-keeping practices and Global Safety Database (Austin) entries to be aligned with global safety standards and local regulations.
- Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their WHS responsibilities under each policy.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics
