About the Role
Elsevier is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solution Sales Account Manager to drive growth and manage the renewal of our comprehensive Engineering portfolio across the Academic and Government sectors in Australia, New Zealand and regional markets.
This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets by positioning our market-leading solutions (including Knovel, Engineering Village, and targeted content collections) as essential tools for research excellence, teaching effectiveness, and national competitiveness.

Responsibilities
Sales and Account Strategy
+ Achieve Revenue Targets: Consistently meet or exceed targets for both renewal revenue and new business growth (upsell/cross-sell) within the assigned territory and product portfolio.

Territory Management and Market Development
+ Market Penetration: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in emerging markets within East Asia, working closely with local support teams.
+ Competitive Intelligence: Maintain deep knowledge of the competitive landscape (e.g., specific engineering databases, industry standards providers) and develop strategies to successfully position Elsevier's unique value proposition.
+ Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with a broad set of stakeholders, including librarians, faculty, heads of departments, and research management professionals.
Collaboration and Product Expertise
+ Subject Matter Expertise: Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of the Engineering portfolio and its application in academic and government research and teaching workflows.
+ Internal Collaboration: Work closely with customer success managers (CSMs) to drive adoption, demonstrate Return on Investment (ROI), and secure early-stage renewals.
+ Feedback Loop: Serve as the voice of the customer, providing timely and structured feedback to Product and Marketing teams to inform future product development and Go-to-Market strategies.
Requirements
+ Proven success (5+ years) in a B2B solution sales role, with a track record of meeting or exceeding complex, high-value revenue targets.
+ Demonstrated experience managing a large, complex sales territory, ideally within the Academic, Government, or B2B technical information sectors.
+ Excellent understanding of the research ecosystem, including university structures, funding cycles, and the role of engineering information in research and teaching.
+ Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical solutions to both technical and executive audiences.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects and a large geographic territory.
+ Fluency in English is required.

+ Generate new business by creatively expanding existing accounts
+ Proactively own renewals in key accounts
+ Evaluate and prepare business plans for each assigned account. This involves evaluating the customer profile, creating value messaging, and targeting key steps needed to execute the account plans
+ Develop important and effective relationships within the account including Key Executives and translate customer challenges and opportunities into unique business value
+ Ensure the Autodesk team delivers Business Value to the Account(s), builds effective Account Business plan and execute upon the plan, builds, maintains and grows opportunity pipeline within Account(s), uses sound call planning to drive business results and makes continuous improvement in moving Autodesk from vendor to trusted advisor
+ Manage accounts through entire sales process; Outside field sales position, physically at customer location for business development, prospecting, and specifications through contract negotiations, signing, and post-sales support.
+ Deliver an accurate weekly, monthly & quarterly forecast of business
+ Partner collaboratively with channel partners in order to understand their business, creatively adopt programs to drive new revenue, and expand business partner relationships
+ Reach out and provide regular customer feedback to the product, industry & strategic marketing teams to help identify product strengths and areas of improvement
+ Negotiate deals and contracts at various levels within the targeted account, with primary focus/importance on "C" and enterprise level negotiation
+ Sell complex service engagements and creatively seek alternative solutions where necessary
+ Be a Trusted Adviser for customers and identify win/win situations
+ Help customers and the company develop success reference stories
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ A proven sales track record carrying a quota in a direct led mid-market sales environment offering complex business solutions
+ Strong sales process and account planning skills (TAS, Value Based Selling)
+ Strong executive selling and relationship experience
+ A proven track-record in managing and growing global accounts
+ Channel sales experience
+ Fluent English language skills
+ Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry or Manufacturing (Design & Manufacturing) experience would be advantageous

**Job Summary:**
As a Business Development Manager in the Electric Power Division, you will be out in front of the industry working directly with our end use customers to understand their needs, propose solutions to challenges they didn't anticipate and develop energy outcomes to serve their future power needs. In this role, you will be responsible for driving incremental volume in the prime power generation space. Whether it's CHP (Combined Heat and Power), Utility Capacity (Bridge to Grid), Biogas, Mine Site Electrification or another industry that needs reliable power, you will be there to support and fuel the growth.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Engage with our customers to develop integrated customer offerings, anticipating and meeting their energy needs
+ Grow relationships with key accounts to secure long term agreements on generator set demand
+ Have a direct relationship with large key consulting engineers and EPCs.
+ Develop professional network both internally and externally.
+ Develop awareness of commercial aspects of procurement to help make strategic sourcing recommendations in support of the cost, quality, and velocity objectives of the commodity.
+ Develop skills to build long-term external relationships with customers as well as internal relationships with business unit customers are also expected.
+ Leverage on knowledge of others, develops and nurtures strategic relationships with end customers.
