**About the Role**
As an **_Expert in Sustainability and Waste Management_** , you will be responsible for waste management and the development of sustainability concepts at the Aspern Seestadt site. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with legal requirements and support the EHS Manager in implementing environmental, health and safety measures.
**How you will contribute:**
+ **Waste management:** Serve as a certified waste management officer, including the operational implementation and maintenance of the waste management concept.
+ **Development and implementation** : develop, implement, and maintain the waste management concept in compliance with regulations.
+ **Monitoring** : Oversee and manage waste disposal processes to ensure compliance with all legal standards.
+ **Sustainability concepts:** Development and monitoring of concepts with a focus on buildings, work processes, climate strategies, and CO2 reduction.
+ **Sustainability reporting** : Preparation of reports in accordance with CSRD/ESRS requirements and analysis of the status quo.
+ **Regulatory trends** : Monitoring of regulatory developments and assessing their impact on business practices, with a focus on sustainable practices and CO2 reduction.
+ **Promote initiatives** : Driving initiatives such as eco-friendly chemicals, hazardous waste reduction, recycling, and reusable laboratory systems.
+ **Technical standards** : Local implementation and auditing of global technical standards for R&D.
+ **EHS tools:** Maintenance and management of internal tools.
+ **General support:** Support for operational processes and risk management on site.
**Skills and qualifications**
+ Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental management, sustainability, logistics, or similar fields.
+ Certification as a waste management officer is mandatory; additional certifications are an advantage.
+ At least 5 years of professional experience in environmental management, preferably in waste management and carbon accounting.
+ Deep understanding of legal and environmental standards as well as sustainability strategies and regulatory affairs.
+ Knowledge of sustainability standards (e.g., CSRD/ESRS).
+ Proficient in MS Office, SAP, Power BI, and EHS tools.
+ Fluent German and English language skills.
+ Effective communication skills and strong stakeholder management.
+ Independent and structured way of working.
+ Ability to collaborate across departments.
+ Willingness to train as a laser safety officer and safety representative is desirable.

The opportunity
Occupational hygiene is the practice of identifying hazardous agents in the workplace that could cause disease or discomfort, evaluating the extent of the risk due to exposure to these hazardous agents, and the control of those risks to prevent ill-health in the long or short term.
A day as a Hygiene Technician involves collecting samples for risk management and legislative compliance. A career in Occupational Hygiene at RED OHMS Group starts at this level with progression through the business to various consultant opportunities.
About You
You will either have experience in, or a keen interest to learn the following:
Conducting air sampling for fibres, dust, heavy metals (e.g. welding fumes) and volatile organic compounds in accordance with relevant standards or guidance documents Conduct noise surveys and noise dosimetry Use of scientific testing equipment / maintain calibration requirements Conduct respiratory and hearing personal protective equipment (PPE) fit-testing, and other health and hygiene risk assessments Have a current Standard 11 mining induction and medical, or work towards this Mine Air Quality Technician training

About you
If you have experience carrying out a range of domestic tasks to maintain hygiene standards in a home-like environment, then this might be the role for you!
Some of your tasks include:
Making residents beds
Cleaning residents’ rooms, including ensuite, communal and administration areas of the facility
Removal and appropriate disposal of waste, including recycling where appropriate and placing of bins for collection
Assisting with laundering the resident’s clothes and other items as required
Other tasks and errands are required to maintain a pleasant, caring, and safe environment for the residents
