**Your New Role and Responsibilities**
The Security Architect Lead is a senior technical leader responsible for shaping and delivering security outcomes across key customer accounts. The role provides strategic and operational leadership across initiatives including Essential Eight uplifts, complex vulnerability management, architectural advisory, and trusted customer engagement. Working across multidisciplinary teams, the role improves security posture and resilience. It suits a capable professional with enterprise and government experience, confident at executive level and skilled in mentoring technical teams. This 12+ month role reports to the Executive overseeing cyber programs and plays a critical part in enhancing security maturity and driving future account growth.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead enterprise security uplift strategies aligned to customer objectives and policy frameworks, including Essential Eight and ISM compliance.
+ Provide architectural advice on secure design, vulnerability remediation, network segmentation, and privileged access models.
+ Oversee complex vulnerability management activities, including tool selection, integration, and reporting in isolated or constrained environments.
+ Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating complex risks into practical recommendations and coordinating across multiple accounts.
+ Mentor security staff and align delivery with business needs, supporting documentation, threat modelling, and pre-sales architecture reviews.
**Qualifications & Experience**
+ Extensive experience as a senior security architect or lead, with a strong track record in cyber uplift initiatives, particularly Essential Eight, and leading or mentoring technical teams.
+ Deep understanding of Australian cybersecurity frameworks, including the ISM, Essential Eight Maturity Model, PSPF, and ASD/ACSC guidance.
+ Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and lead strategic security outcomes.
+ With proven success in complex, high-trust environments across government and enterprise.
+ Broad technical knowledge across key domains, including cloud security (AWS/Azure), vulnerability management, SIEM, endpoint protection, IAM, threat intel, infrastructure, containers, DevSecOps, and GRC.

Lead, monitor, and report on security services engagements at key Cisco customers, interacting with customer technical and executive personnel
While engaging with customers, identify and support the pursuit of business opportunities aligning to customer needs and their requirements as they transform and digitize their businesses
Assist in the development of customer proposals and statements of work, accurately scope engagements as required
Support Cisco Account Teams and Services Business Development Managers in the identification and development of new security services businesses
This is a senior technical role, requiring a minimum of 10 years working experience in IT Security, IT Consulting, and systems integration working with large Enterprise entities.
**Requirements include:**
Australian Citizen
NV1 or NV2 Clearance or be willing to obtain
University Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
Security specialist with extensive technical, market and business expertise
Knowledge and experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) architecture, SOC platforms and other security and enrichment platforms
Knowledge and experience in automation and orchestration tools
Ability to design custom SOC use cases
Expert understanding of another 2 security technology domains beyond SOC
OT, Network, Cloud security and DevSecOps highly desirable
ITIL, COBIT5, TOGAF, CISSP, SecOps or equivalent certifications and/or experience in containers, cloud, databases, open source, etc.
Proven record of leadership experience in sophisticated programs or projects
Basic program/project management skills
Ability to work with customer business leaders while maintaining relationships with technology teams.
Understanding the customer business model, motivations, influences and how they generate revenue or fund the business

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco's flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco's Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
