Manage the financial and management reporting for a retail property portfolio

We have an opportunity for an experienced Property Accountant to join our highly regarded Retail Property Management team. Reporting to the National Finance Manager, you will provide assistance in the financial/management accounting and reporting for a retail portfolio for a key strategic client. This is a dynamic role working closely with the centre staff supporting their needs and providing the analysis required.
**Here's what you'll focus on:**
+ Prepare monthly financial pack, including trial balance, P&L commentary vs. budget, and balance sheet reconciliations
+ Conduct income and outgoings accruals analysis, ensuring accuracy and completeness
+ Provide detailed commentary on actual income/expenditure and explain significant variances from budget/forecast
+ Complete and review balance sheet and outgoings reconciliations for Centre Management Team approval
+ Assist Property and Facilities Managers with budgeting, forecasting, and support the audit process as needed

**The Opportunity**
We're seeking a motivated Property Accountant with a couple of years' experience to join our collaborative ISPT Finance team. This is a 12-month contract with strong potential to transition to a permanent role as the team continues to grow.
You'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, analysis and insights for a major client portfolio, while learning from some of the best in the industry.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for a premium property portfolio
+ Manage income, expenditure, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
+ Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis processes
+ Partner with internal stakeholders and clients to provide timely, accurate information
+ Assist with audit and compliance requirements
+ Identify opportunities to streamline and improve finance processes
**About You**
+ Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or related field
+ Two or more years' experience in accounting or finance (property or funds management experience a plus)
+ Progressing towards or completed CA/CPA qualification
+ Strong Excel and financial systems skills (Yardi, MRI or similar highly regarded)
+ Detail-oriented, proactive and eager to grow within a supportive team

About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll assist in managing the hotel's financial operations, ensuring accurate transaction and payment processing, and maintaining up-to-date financial records. Additionally, you’ll play a key part in maintaining financial integrity, supporting internal departments, and delivering exceptional service to our suppliers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Process and pay hotel expenses in line with accounting policies
• Verify invoice accuracy, coding, and departmental authorisation
• Reconcile supplier statements and hotel payment accounts
• Maintain accurate records in the accounts receivable ledger
• Raise and send invoices to clients with outstanding balances
• Follow up on overdue accounts and ensure timely collections
• Reconcile credit card transactions and client inquiries
• Ensure all accounts balance with the general ledger each period
• Load payment files and ensure proper documentation and approvals
• Support other Finance team members and attend scheduled meetings
• Maintain compliance with hotel finance procedures and WH&S standards
Skills & Experience:
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Courteous, efficient, and professional approach
• Experience with Sun Accounting and MS Office
• Experience with Opera PMS and Tyalls (preferred)
• Understanding of finance policies and procedures
• Relevant training or qualification in accounting or finance
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role or classification
