**About the role**
Working out of our Brisbane office, this fantastic opportunity has opened for a **Project Engineer** to join and form an integral part of our Project Management team.
As a Project Engineer, you will be reporting directly to a Project Manager and be responsible for the following day to day activities;
+ Manage the delivery of the scope, project tasks, deliverables, budget, and schedule across multiple projects.
+ Responsible for controlling the project`s expenditures, including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
+ Managing key project registers: Change, Risk, TQ, SID/HAZID/HAZOP etc.
+ Demonstrate a strong willingness to grow and step into the PM role.
+ Previous experience working on 'Sus Cap' projects is beneficial.
**Successful candidates will need to possess:**
+ 3 yrs experience in Engineering Design and/or Construction roles (preferably Mechanical)
+ Experience in minerals processing, pumping and piping and materials handling systems
+ Experience in multiple commodities such as iron ore, copper/gold and/or battery minerals is desirable.
+ Eligibility for RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) application is desirable but not essential.

# Project Overview:
Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.
The M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.
The Project is a greenfield mining, process, material handling and ship loading project with a focus on sustaining production, minimise environmental impacts, strengthen long-term relationships with neighbouring communities and foster local economic development.
# Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team and interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate the engineering technical aspects for complex projects. You will participate in project planning, proposal review, and will own the engineering elements of capital estimates. Your technical guidance and recommendations will ensure engineering aspects meet project requirements and remain within scope and budget.
**This role will require regular travel to China.**

# Major Responsibilities:
+ Management of the scope, schedule, budget, priorities and the sequence of work for the project or assigned portion of a project including supervision of engineers of all disciplines in the Global Business Unit (GBU).
+ Inputs to and owns the engineering elements of a project capital estimate proposals and execution quantities and budgets.
+ Develops design and procurement schedules for approval.
+ Ensures scope, design basis and objectives are defined, best practices/lessons learned reviewed, detailed work plans, schedules, budgets and procedures are established and executed, including:
+ Execution Plan
+ Contract Management Plan
+ Change Management Plan
+ Plan for addressing critical cross-functional work processes and systems, etc.
+ Reviews and approves design documents, change orders, material requisitions and specifications for construction or procurement use.

+ Resolves field initiated questions on engineering.
+ Prepares or directs the preparation of project studies, reports, forecasts, special engineering reports and plant data book.
+ Ensures that Technical Risk Assessments are comprehensive and complete, safety practices and procedures are implemented, and engineering design and corresponding design documentation are in compliance with project Quality Assurance plan and procedures.
+ Acts as the principal point of contact with the Engineering Manager and Contractor counterparts.
+ Responsible for the overall outcome of packages awarded as P.O.s and fully fledged LSTKs; including complete delivery of design, procurement, delivery, installation, commissioning and hand-over.
+ Identifies quality requirements and ensures the proper processes are identified and implemented to achieve contractual quality commitments.
# Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Previous experience performing the above duties in the mining & metals industry
+ Experience in delivering complex packages and leading multi-discipline teams on a major EPCM project
+ Exemplary quality and safety record
+ Ability to travel to supplier/vendor office (China / Southeast Asia) for a period of min 6 months
+ Technically bilingual and conversant in English-Chinese
+ Previous experience using advance work packaging which ties in with modularisation, procurement, fabrication, transportation and installation.

**About the role**
We are currently seeking a motivated Electrical Project Technical Lead (PTL) to join our Perth Electrical Team on a full-time basis. You will be a part of our Electrical Team working in a multi-disciplinary group across various building and infrastructure projects with a strong focus in Health, Defence, Mission Critical, Science Technology, Commercial and Social Infrastructure.
We are seeking candidates that can focus and excel in both business development and technical delivery. The business development aspect of the role will focus on input into proposals, developing and servicing a client base, and securing and generating potential opportunities. While the technical delivery aspect will focus in on the successful delivery of projects from initial concept through to construction completion.
The successful candidate will be able to apply their technical skills and demonstrate commitment in a way which ensures projects are thoroughly designed, personally reviewed and delivered on time. You will be expected to service projects including those of relatively large size, of high complexity and with multiple clients.

**Day to day tasks would involve:**
+ Responsible for technical planning and managing (multi-discipline and single discipline) projects from initial master planning, concept and brief, through to installation and commissioning.
+ Conduct business development activities including input into proposals, generating and securing potential opportunities, networking, and servicing new and existing clients.
+ Demonstrate technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery.
+ Provide Electrical designs for a range of building projects, including reports, studies, design calculations, drawings and specifications.
+ Support and offer guidance to Engineers and Graduates to enable them to perform successfully at all levels.
+ Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships.
+ Prepare presentations and present to external clients.
+ Liaise with authorities and contractors.
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (with a preference of being a Chartered Electrical Engineer).
+ Proven experience in a design consultancy environment, with a strong track record of client engagement and project leadership.
+ A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for building client relationships and growing business pipelines.
+ Be well-connected in Perth and confident in business development
+ Willingness to establish and maintain strong client relationships to formulate repeat opportunities
