**About the role**
Our established NSW Planning team is looking for a new **Team Leader** to join us on a permanent basis, within our Wollongong or Sydney offices. This role will contribute to Stantec business goals by providing leadership and mentoring the planning team, whilst also providing professional planning advice in both statutory and strategic planning.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams, and also work independently as a Principal planner on your own projects. Our team works on a range of land development, infrastructure, and strategic planning projects across New South Wales.
Successful candidates will be developed in a professional and personal sense and will be provided with an opportunity to forge a challenging and rewarding career path in a successful consultancy.
**Day to day tasks would involve:**
Leading a team of Urban Planners, ensuring correct staffing levels and resourcing of projects, maintaining a high level of engagement with team members, and working with partner Team leads across other disciplines to achieve project outcomes
+ Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis and report writing and a comprehensive knowledge of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation.
+ Act as project manager with planning, programming and coordination of projects to ensure that project outputs meet or exceed agreed goals.
+ Develop project plans and strategies for the completion of major projects including identification of business resource requirements.
+ Manage or assist with the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments and other planning documentation and submissions on behalf of clients.
+ Undertake technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team to ensure that documentation and service levels meet or exceed client's expectations.
+ Lead and assist with the preparation of tender documentation.
+ Foster client relationships and identify business opportunities.
+ Grow, develop and mentor junior staff.
**Qualifications**
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
+ Demonstrated leadership experience in a consultancy environment or similar.
+ Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis and report writing
+ Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
+ Self-motivated and self-directed
+ Interest in working on a broad variety of projects
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers and clients.
+ Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
+ Drive and passion to solve problems and produce innovative solutions.

**What about the role?**
Our Insights & Planning Manager sits as part of our incredible Marketing Transformation team, focused on leading the consumer insights and planning for our iconic brands, including Bundy Rum, Smirnoff and Don Julio. Partnering closely with our broader brand and innovation teams, the role is responsible for uncovering, building and developing key insights to lead our brand teams in the strategic development of brand plans, innovation opportunities and business plans and measurements of success.
**Where will you grow in this role?**
+ Lead partnerships with our Brand teams to expertly build the integral insights required to develop winning brand strategies and execution plans;
+ Lead and partner with the Innovation team to build a robust innovation pipeline for our brands ensuring the evolution of our key brand is linked to consumer insights;
+ Be the champion of foresights and macro trends within our business, using them to identify and embed future growth opportunities for our business and brands;
+ Build Insights capability across the broader marketing team; and
+ Manage relationships with key data and insights agencies in order to ensure high levels of effectiveness in our working relationships, leading our Brand Guidance System relationship locally.
**What will you bring to the table?**
+ Experience in insight development and consumer research, ideally from an in-house or potentially agency background;
+ Proven experience in generating insights and driving their acceptance through a business to drive growth;
+ Leadership experience of internal and external stakeholders to drive accountability and effectiveness; and
+ A natural curiosity and engagement in connecting dots between various data sources and building simplicity out of complexity.
