Senior Quantity Surveyor
We are currently looking for an experienced Snr Quantity Surveyor to join the team based in Melbourne, reporting to the Manager, Commercial & Quantity Surveying Services.
You will play a crucial role in the delivery of professional building cost management and construction cost consulting services.
**Your responsibilities will include:**
+ Estimate and monitor construction costs from the project feasibility stage, through tender preparation, to the construction period and beyond.
+ Maximise value, minimise risk, and optimise all building cost outcomes.
+ Complete detailed cost estimates calculated from a measured scope of works.
+ Mentoring and supporting other Quantity Surveyor
+ Compare contractor's quotations against industry standard building rates and margins.
+ Provide m2 elemental reports to estimate "value at risk" for underinsurance purposes.
+ Complete progress claims and variation assessments.
+ Work closely with internal loss adjusters
**About you:**
+ Qualification: Either Bachelor of Building and Construction Management, Bachelor of Construction Management and Property, Bachelor of Urban Development (Quantity Surveying and Cost Engineering) or Bachelor of Construction
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Sound knowledge of the insurance industry (claims lifecycle) including the legislative framework, applicable codes and products.
+ Intermediate Microsoft office skills
+ A thorough knowledge of building costs and construction techniques
+ Experience working within the insurance industry on domestic and commercial losses
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Have a current Drivers Licence

AECOM's Cost Management Team has an opportunity in Brisbane, for an experienced Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our successful team. We are open to speaking with Associate Quantity Surveyors, Associate Director Quantity Surveyors or Technical Director-level quantity surveyors.
This role will work on a variety of market sectors including sports infrastructure, health, education and Defence sector projects.
**How you'll make a difference:**
+ Lead and deliver cost management and quantity surveying services for major projects across Queensland and nationally, with a focus on **sports infrastructure, education, healthcare, and** **Defence** .
+ Oversee project cost planning from early feasibility to delivery, including estimating, value engineering, risk analysis, and whole-of-life costing.
+ Provide **technical leadership and mentorship** to junior and mid-level professionals, driving capability development and delivery excellence.
+ Build trusted client relationships, offering **strategic commercial advice** and supporting informed decision-making throughout project lifecycles.
+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, represent AECOM in industry forums, and support business development to grow our client base.
**Qualifications**

+ Australian citizenship or an active/eligible Defence clearance preferred, along with advanced proficiency in CostX and Microsoft Suite.
