We're on the hunt for a sharp, detail-driven **Lead Tax Analyst - Indirect Tax** to join our high-performing team. You'll work closely with our Tax Manager and the broader Financial Accounting team to keep our indirect tax operations watertight - across GST, FBT, payroll tax and other employment taxes - all while helping to drive strategic initiatives across Australia and New Zealand.

**What You'll Do**
**Indirect Tax Compliance & Advisory**
+ Own and manage the indirect tax calendar for Australia & New Zealand
+ Prepare and review GST, FBT, BAS, and payroll tax returns
+ Advise on GST treatment of products and transactions
+ Support superannuation and reportable benefits reviews
+ Lead GST governance, remediation and controls improvements
+ Support acquisitions, integrations and business restructuring from a tax lens

**Minimum requirements:**
+ **Extensive experience** - at least 8 years in multinational corporate tax and/or a chartered firm environment
+ **Indirect tax expertise** - minimum 4 years' experience (6+ years preferred)
+ **Technical excellence** - deep knowledge of indirect taxes and relevant tax legislation
+ **Professional credentials** - CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent), with a tax specialisation highly desirable
+ Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
+ Advanced Excel and strong MS Office skills
+ Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
+ A collaborative mindset and the confidence to drive outcomes
**Preferred Experience** :
+ Experience in a multinational environment
+ Previous involvement in leading or supporting strategic finance/tax projects

**The job**
We are looking for a seasoned tax specialist to manage taxation compliance across AVEVA's Australian entities. This role involves overseeing local tax affairs, supported by the Group Tax team in the UK and our external tax partners. You will collaborate with the Senior Accountant on financial reporting requirements and report directly to AVEVA Group's Head of Tax.
As the Australian Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role within our in-house tax team, engaging with key internal and external stakeholders across the Group. You will also work closely with the Head of Finance - Pacific to provide strategic tax advice. While the role is primarily focused on Australia, it includes some international responsibilities and offers a diverse mix of tax accounting, compliance, employee-related taxes, and advisory work.
In this role, you will be responsible for Taxation compliance in Australia. We are looking to hire a tax specialist who can handle the tax affairs for the Australian entities supported by group tax in the UK and our external tax partners. The role will also include working with the Senior Accountant around financial reporting requirements.

**Key responsibilities**
+ Working with advisers and in-house finance teams to ensure the accurate preparation and timely filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with international tax laws and regulations, where any issues are visible and escalated.
+ Provide guidance and support to other departments on tax-related matters, including structuring transactions, contract reviews, and financial planning.
+ Assisting with ERP changes with a clear focus on process automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
+ Assisting with tax accounting and reporting, in coordination with other members of the Tax and Finance teams to ensure timely, accurate and compliant tax reporting at each calendar quarter-end, December year-end, and additional hard-close periods in May and November.
+ Indirect tax - responsible for preparation and lodgement of monthly BAS/ CAS, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax, FBT
+ Management of R & D claims by supporting outsourced partners.
+ Managing external auditors and advisers.
+ Monitoring changes in tax legislation and assessing their impact on the company.
+ Offering guidance, training, and support to accounting team colleagues.
+ Reviewing processes for continual improvement to ensure maximum efficiency and digital adoption.
+ Managing deliverables and fees against expectations and budget.
+ Monitoring compliance with the group's transfer pricing policy and business models and responding to ad hoc queries and preparing local files.
+ Proactively managing relationships with tax authorities, tax audits and enquiries.
**Essential requirements**
+ Degree and Qualified Accountant or Tax Advisor
+ Extensive experience (10 + years) in corporate tax
+ Experience in mid/large-tier practice or in-house tax function, preferably in a multinational environment
+ Strong tax accounting knowledge and previous work experience within the tax reporting arena
+ Background in corporation tax compliance

Your key responsibilities

What we look for
To be considered for this role you must have
Australian corporate income tax or fund tax experience, ideally gained in a top tier accounting firm, mid tier accounting firm, corporate business (including superannuation, insurance, banking and wealth and asset management) – 3+ plus years of experience
Demonstrated ability to manage engagements, with strong influencing skills to pull the right levers to drive the best outcomes
An ability to articulate complex technical information into succinct, well-informed recommendations to your clients

We provide a full suite of Securities Services in more than 100 markets, including our proprietary network of over 60 branches and across 23 fund domiciles. The role of Senior Tax and Financial Reporting manager is a new role that has been created to help support the head of the Tax and Financial reporting team, in managing and overseeing the migration activity as well as BAU. You will represent the department in migration type meetings and as well have approximately 5 people reporting into you, where you will be overseeing their delivery of BAU items. You will be responsible for liaising with clients and their service providers and be competent to discuss technical tax and accounting topics and industry trends. You will also be responsible for identifying, analysing, monitoring and communicating risks and controls within the team.
**In this role, you're expected to:**
+ Manage the completion and delivery of all tax and other regulatory reporting including: business activity statements; distribution calculations and tax returns; accounting to taxable income reconciliations
+ Ensure tax and other regulatory reporting adheres to company policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative requirements
+ Analyse and consider impacts of key tax reforms
+ Ensure the business unit maintains the ethical standards contained in the Code of Conduct
+ Adhere to firm policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative requirements
