What You'll DoIn the role of Food Service Assistant, your duties will include:
+ Food Preparation - Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, marinating, and ensuring proper portioning for recipes.
+ Cooking - Cook food according to restaurant or kitchen standards, following recipes to ensure consistency and taste.
+ Maintain Cleanliness - Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking equipment, and utensils. Follow sanitation and food safety standards.
+ Menu Knowledge - Be familiar with the menu, ingredients, and cooking methods to effectively prepare and present dishes.
+ Quality Control - Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes to maintain consistency and high standards.
+ Time Management - Prepare dishes in a timely manner, ensuring all meals are ready according to the service schedule.
+ Collaboration - Work closely with kitchen staff, to manage kitchen operations, communicate orders, and ensure efficient meal preparation.
+ Inventory Management - Assist in tracking and managing kitchen supplies, reporting when ingredients need to be reordered.
+ Compliance - Adhere to health and safety regulations and kitchen procedures, including proper storage of ingredients and food handling techniques.
Requirements:
+ Must be a US or Australian citizen
+ Must Possess an active US Secret or AUS NV-1 Clearance.
+ Must have a minimum of three years of experience in food service or a related field.
+ Must have demonstratable experience following instructions and safely operating kitchen equipment.
+ Must have an understanding of hygiene and food safety rules.
+ Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy items, and working in a fast-paced environment.
+ Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
This role will be located in Alice Springs. About the Food Services Team
St Vincent's Fitzroy Food service department is a central production kitchen providing food for 11 sites and for St Vincent's itself. We are fully functional kitchen operating 365 days of the year, producing approximately 2500 meals daily in accordance to the "cook-chill" methodology for all sites.
The department consists of over 85 employees, ranging from cooks/chefs, kitchen hands and food service assistants.

**About the Role**
As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you will contribute to and assist the Events Service team with the efficient running of the department according to the established brand standards of Hyatt International, providing courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times when setting rooms and serving food & beverages to guests, in order to maximise guest satisfaction.
Working in a team of 40, you will support the Events Services Manager in the day to day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.
**Some of the responsibilities include:**
· Meeting and greeting guests arriving and departing the functions/meetings
· Assist with the set-up of functions and meeting spaces while adhering to the safe manual handling practices
· Provide personalised service on a large scale operation
· Serving food and beverage to guests according to the established sequence of service and procedures
**Qualifications:**
· Previous Food & Beverage experience in a hotel environment or similar fast-paced environment
· A valid and current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate for Victoria
· A local certificate in food handling and hygiene would be advantageous
· Exceptional interpersonal, communication and time management skills
· Superior customer service skills along with the capability of working both autonomously and as part of a team
· The ability to create a positive first impression with an understanding of the importance of 5 star grooming standards
· The flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
