About the Role:
The Software Engineering Lead serves as a subject matter expert of Software Engineers. In addition to writing code on complex systems and applications, they provide direction on project plans, schedules, and methodologies and manages direct reports.

Responsibilities:
+ Serve as the initial point of escalation for software development issues within specific area of responsibility.
+ Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
+ Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
+ Complete complex bug fixes.
+ Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
+ Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.

Requirements:
+ 7+ years of Software Engineering experience
+ BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
+ Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
+ Strong experience with various resource models such as Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation.
+ Strong knowledge in industry best practices in external resource development.
+ Ability to partner and lead internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.
+ Test-driven development.
+ Strong research skills.
+ Strong proficiency with data manipulation language including optimization techniques.
+ Strong understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles.

About the Role:
The Rust Software Engineering Lead focuses on developing robust, well-documented, and tested web and API-based applications, primarily using Rust. You'll collaborate closely with the SVP of Architecture, engineers, and product team to build internal libraries and contribute to greenfield projects. The front-end stack involves Rust (Leptos for WASM) and Tailwind CSS, with a strong emphasis on event-based architectures and AWS serverless technologies.

Embedded Software Team Lead - $160,000-$80,000 base + super – Adelaide based – Permanent Full Time

You will join the team as an Embedded Software Team Lead and are given the chance to really take ownership, drive and influence. This role is open to candidates in Adelaide (only) who is open to working 4 days per week in the office.

  • Salary: $160 000- 180,000 base + super maximum
  • 5 X Embedded Engineers reporting into this person
  • 50% hands on, 50% leadership

Due to an expanding team, an Embedded Software Team Lead role has now become available.

Key Responsibilities:-

Embedded Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for IoT modules, silicon, and devices, with an emphasis on satellite IoT connectivity.
IoT Protocol Implementation: Develop and optimize communication protocols for IoT systems, prioritizing reliability and low power consumption.
Device Integration: Integrate IoT firmware with hardware components such as microcontrollers, communication modules, and external networks.
Firmware Updates: Experienced in implementing over-the-air firmware update systems.
Testing and Validation: Develop and perform tests to verify and validate the performance, security, and reliability of IoT systems.
Documentation: Produce and manage documentation, including technical specifications, APIs, and user manuals.
Security: Apply security protocols to safeguard IoT devices and data through encryption, authentication, and operating system hardening.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including cloud network engineers, hardware engineers, system architects, and product managers, to define project requirements, participate in peer reviews, and ensure timely project completion.

Key Requirements:-

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Technical Leadership experience
  • Experience in coding in C language
  • Hands-on experience with embedded Linux and Linux shell scripting, or with embedded systems based on microcontrollers is required.
  • Previous involvement throughout the complete product lifecycle.
  • Enthusiastic about working in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Setting standards and processes and understanding how things are done
Bonus:
  • Experience in areas such as IoT or wireless communication development, familiarity with IoT platforms, understanding of IoT security practices, and expertise in wireless communication modules, radio technologies, firmware development, and open-source projects is a plus, though not mandatory.
