Customer Support Field Engineer III
**Responsibilities**
JOB SUMMARY
+ Performs as on-site support liaison between Panasonic and Airline Customers/OEMs to ensure customer satisfaction and optimum performance of all Panasonic equipment. Provides service, technical guidance, support and training to airline customers to ensure product performance and reliability objectives are met. Represent Panasonic Field Engineering interests in resolution of technical issues with other Panasonic and customer engineering departments. Acts as mentor and technical resource to lower level Field Engineers.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES.Description
+ Service, Support, Training and Troubleshooting
+ Provide technical guidance, formal training, and field assistance to other Panasonic personnel and airline customers in troubleshooting and resolving system hardware, network, and software issues. Provides accurate, detailed and timely responses to problems and queries.
+ Provide troubleshooting assistance and support for new equipment installations, enhancements or modifications for hardware, wiring, and software integration and issue resolution. Work closely with engineering departments to ensure timely and accurate corrective action is achieved.
+ Review mechanical, electrical, and software installation documentation to verify that all specifications are met.
+ Work with training department to conduct operational, line and maintenance training for airline customers.
+ Checks reliability of data. Monitors trends and analyzes data to identify systemic problems.
+ Maintain a detailed working knowledge of aircraft avionics systems which interface with Panasonic equipment.
+ Participate in resolving system operation, maintenance or reliability issues by conducting investigations, collecting data to identify the scope of problems, and participating in the recovery plan as required with other departments. Monitor failure trends and possible quality or reliability problems.
+ Provide field inputs to other Panasonic departments, (i.e. Product Support Engineering, Field Engineering Offices, Repair Center, Training, and Program Management) concerning technical product issues, installation or documentation related problems. Collect data required by Support Engineering to evaluate problem areas within the system software.
+ Provide a consistent communication path to engineering for problem resolution. Establish a strong inter-departmental Engineering interface and support.
+ Monitors and coordinates engineering solutions and implementation of fixes/solutions.
+ Assists in aircraft delivery and support during flight test and customer flight acceptance.
+ Other duties as required

+ Work closely with the customer's technical departments in providing timely and accurate data, reports and feedback.
+ Maintain in-depth knowledge of Panasonic products and installations, including system software and associated equipment. Remain current by continually obtaining new data, specifications, and interfacing often with the groups developing new products and software.
+ Respond to all airline queries related to the operation & maintenance (non-PTS customers) of Panasonic systems.
+ Provide regular, accurate and detailed technical reports to management and/or appropriate departments on all activities, observed field problems, and customer issues. Provide clear and concise written and verbal communication and often requires participation or leadership in continuing problem investigations.
+ Manage the relationship between Panasonic and the assigned customers to ensure satisfaction and long-term business relationship.
+ Other duties as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
+ Bachelor's Degree/equivalent educational qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Engineering or related degree is preferred. 8+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
+ Typically requires 5-7 years of experience as Field Engineer or Product Engineer, specializing in electronics/avionics systems, software or broadcast technology.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
+ Extensive knowledge of Linux, Unix, Windows and VxWorks (or embedded operating systems).
+ Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP networks and troubleshooting methods.
+ Thorough understanding of wiring schematics, diagrams and other engineering/aircraft documentation.
+ Effective interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ MySQL database experience a plus.
+ Proficient in the utilization of MS office suite and Oracle.
+ Must understand aircraft systems that interface with PAC equipment.
+ Understands Recommended Spares requirements and coordinates the delivery of spare equipment for airline customers. Review RSPLS for Marketing Business Proposals.
+ Familiar with FAA, CAA, and ATA requirements for avionics equipment
+ Ability to write and converse effectively with peers from Panasonic, Airline customers and other vendors on a technical level.
+ Must be able to represent Panasonic interests to non-technical people in meetings and various reports.
+ Capable of identifying complex engineering problems in software and hardware and then working with the appropriate Panasonic department to produce an effective resolution, (i.e. problems can be fundamental design issues with software, power, and electronic components or they can be aircraft environment or systems related).
+ Advanced level engineering product knowledge on avionics and related software areas.
+ Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.
+ Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative in creative ways.
+ Works on problems of diverse to complex scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
+ Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
+ Ability to multitask and apply priority to projects with adaptability and urgency while meeting timelines.
+ Ability to present Panasonic interests to non-technical people in meetings and various reports.
+ Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
+ Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to meet the requirements of the airport authority for access and vehicle operation on their premises. (For Boeing, employees must possess an active Washington State drivers license and submit to a DMV record check).
+ Ability to pass extensive security and background checks.
+ Willing to work weekends and beyond normal business hours as required. Ability to work all shift hours and weekends. Ability to travel up to 50%, both domestic and international, often on short notice.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experience in Mission Critical Environments

In this role, you will drive mechanical engineering services design, construction, and implementation of enterprise data centres that meet global quality and performance standards. Working directly with Design Engineering Stakeholders, Construction, Operations, and Commissioning teams within the APAC region.

Key job responsibilities
- Evaluate cooling systems using in-depth CFD knowledge to make data-driven decisions aligned with our guidelines
- Drive successful project delivery while maintaining the highest performance standards
- Utilize innovation to reduce PUE, water consumption, and CAPEX while increasing efficiency
- Develop mechanical documentation including but not limited to narratives, drawings, specifications, etc.
- Drive process improvements across the organization.
- Perform building energy use calculations for determining capacity and type of cooling system required
- Perform CFD models on innovative and next generation designs
- Provide reports to senior leadership on the results of those models
- Perform water efficiency use calculations to determine quantity of water needed on site
- Coordinate with construction and commissioning teams to answer requests for information
- Work with global ME teams to achieve alignment of design and CFD modeling standards
- Develop special projects and assist senior engineers with detailed calculations for special projects
- This position will involve travel (20%)

Basic Qualifications
- 5 years experience with Sigma Six or HELYX CFD modeling software
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering
- Thorough understanding and use of principals, theories and concepts in mechanical engineering
- 8 years experience in designing HVAC systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer in training or Chartered Engineer
- Understanding of building controls documentation
- Programming skills in Python and AI tools

The Data Center Global Services (DCGS) team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, inventive Civil Engineer to drive design and construction in a client-side technical lead role for the delivery of our enterprise data center campus projects.
As a Civil Engineer, you will work as part of the wider Data Center Design Engineering Team collaborating with our Real Estate, Construction and other partner teams. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of design delivery ensuring we continue to meet and exceed our industry leading quality and performance requirements.
Utilizing your Civil Engineering expertise, you will assist in site selection, assessment of due diligence reports, supporting with overall campus and site planning and development ultimately playing a pivotal role throughout the delivery of Data Center projects.
The successful candidate will be strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly with a history of delivering for their customers. The DCGS business requires creative engineering balanced with high quality and customer focus. You must be able to work as part of a large and dynamic team, including many internal stakeholders, customers as well as external stakeholders like design consultants, developers and general contractors.
Key job responsibilities
- Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
- Develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and template specifications related to site design.
- Coordinate with Due Diligence teams to determine site selection criteria and review Due Diligence reports.
- Create, review, and release design RFPs.
- Manage our external civil/structural/architectural design consultants through the design and construction process.
- Review designs for grading, storm water, utilities, and pavement.
- Coordinate with internal and external Architecture, Structure and MEP design engineers.
- Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
- Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously.
- Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
- Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with authorities having jurisdiction. Anticipated travel is approximately 25%.
A day in the life
Given Amazon's global presence, 25% travel is required. This includes international travel to inspect and audit current and future data center sites. Collaboration with international teams is essential, and you may need to travel for workshops to develop schematic and detailed design documentation packages.

Basic Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Ideally +10 years civil engineering experience on land development, large industrial, warehouse and commercial projects.
- Proficiency in earthworks, grading, paving, storm water, utility design and landscaping.
