Reporting to the Lead Civil Structural Engineer you will work with a team of engineers and designers to provide safe, reliable, and efficient technical expertise to the business.

Key Responsibilities

Produce technically acceptable standard of work and design deliverables. **Position Summary:**
We are seeking an experienced, skilled and driven Mechanical **Design Engineer** to join our diverse, dynamic, high-performance engineering team. This role is focused on design and delivery of mechanical solutions for slurry analyser systems (e.g. Samplers & Analysers) and associated equipment in the mining environment within the Minerals product portfolio of the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) of Thermo Fisher to match client requirements. **Key Responsibilities:**
**Engineering Support to Commercial & Sales Teams:**
+ Collaborate with Sales team and customers to gather design requirements, provide technical feedback and generate/clarify exceptions to specifications.
+ Review sales proposals for technical feasibility and provide suggested improvements/changes where required.
+ Provide engineering drawing packages, specification reviews, data sheets, costings and other technical requirements to Sales team in a timely manner.

+ Support secondary system design and development from conceptual through preliminary and detailed design, fabrication, assembly, production test, validation test as well as site installation, start-up test, and commissioning.
+ Perform, lead, or manage design and related technical scope from Conceptual, Preliminary, and Detailed Design including successful completion of regulatory design certification or plant licensing as well as procurement packages and hand-off to suppliers for implementation all applicable system, and component requirements; interfaces, function, performance, design assurance process, qualification, standards, regulatory guidance, certification or licensing commitments, technical contract, human factors, safety hazards, reliability, cyber
+ Collaborate with system supplier implementation teams to develop, perform, and review unit, module, system, and integration test plans, procedures, and reports including factory acceptance test, site acceptance test, construction, pre-operational, and start-up tests.
**Qualifications / Requirements:**
+ Degree from an accredited university or college in Electrical or control engineering
+ Min 10 years' experience in design of secondary protection control system of HV AC substations and thorough knowledge in SAS -Substation automation system architectures.
+ Engineering and Business knowledge, with possible experience in T&D/ Energy/ Grid / substation automation activities.
+ Fluency in English language.
+ Willingness to travel 30%.
