Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor of Structural Engineering
· Competence and experience in the practice of Structural Engineering
· Ability to design building structures and prepare design calculations using both manual methods or with the aid of industry standard computer applications
· Practical experience in the design and documentation of concrete and steel framed buildings
· Be on the pathway to obtaining CPEng within 3 years
· Complete the planning, design and execution of projects working with large teams
· Demonstrate a client focus with proven experience in delivering great project outcomes in the past
· Be involved in close coordination with construction teams and external stakeholders to develop the best project solution
· Prepare technically sound, well written and easily understood proposals and reports
· Proactively provide direction, mentoring and support junior engineers

# Project Overview:
The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village. The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah Riyadh highway. A desert track connects Al Mouwayh to the Project site.
# Job Summary:
In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's civil/structural aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components and processes. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's civil/structural aspects are met.
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the civil/structural engineering work for a global business unit, a project or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications for structures, building, roadways, railroads, etc.
+ Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs)
+ Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
+ Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
+ Originates and checks complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
+ Other responsibilities as designated
# Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Demonstrated, solid experience in structural engineering

+ Structural software knowledge of SpaceGass, RAM, ETABS or similar design programs
+ Knowledge of building stability analysis and corresponding detailing
+ Knowledge and capability across post tensioned and reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and timber design fields

+ Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines

The Opportunity
In this position you are responsible for the design, specification and engineering services related to structures and foundations made of concrete, steel, wood, composites, other engineered products or shaped natural landforms, including for buildings, platforms, retention and drainage structures, pipe racks and similar infrastructure. You will have specific experience in the design of water retaining structures.
Whilst in the role you will devise new approaches to problems encountered. The position requires the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes related to structures and foundations along with detailed and complex involvement in all aspects of design such as contributing to and/or performing studies and designs, preparing specifications and providing consulting services in the structural engineering field. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, civil and other engineers in delivery of projects and proposals for a range of clients and infrastructure types.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate comprehensive practical and theoretical knowledge in the discipline of structural engineering and can technically lead a project structural engineering team to deliver major work packages for a large multi-disciplinary project according to scope, budget and schedule.

Senior Forensic Structural Engineer
Reporting to the Manager of Engineering Services, you will be taking on a dual role, combing both forensic and design engineering responsibilities. You will conduct thorough forensic investigations to determine the cause of damage for insurance claims or asset/building owners and prepare detailed causation reports and Scopes of Works. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive design packages for the repair and remediation of the identified damage.
**What are my accountabilities?**
+ Inspect and assess the condition of existing buildings and structures to determine the cause of damage.
+ Identifying design and construction defects with reference to code and damage causation
+ Collecting data using photographic equipment
+ Accurate and detailed recording of data whilst on-site
+ Preparation of detailed computations for the repair small to medium structures
+ Delivering design documentation including drawings, specifications, and reports.
+ Providing construction-phase support on a wide array of projects.
**About you**
+ At least 10 years' industry experience, with experience as a forensic engineer ideal.
+ Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering
+ Member of Engineers Australia (MIEAust)
+ Chartered Engineer and/or Registered on the National Engineers Register (NER).
+ Interstate accreditations will be considered including Registered Building Practitioner, Victoria (RPEV) and Registered Professional Engineer, Queensland (RPEQ)
+ Proven experience with structural design software such as Spacegass, Structural Toolkit, etc.
+ Sound knowledge of the insurance industry (claims lifecycle) including the legislative framework, applicable codes and products
