The Systems Administrator is responsible for the support, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of client ICT Service Desk environments, ensuring high availability and performance across systems and services. Operating under the direction of the Service Desk Manager, this role provides technical support for incidents, service requests, and changes, and plays a key part in maintaining system health and stability for KBR clients.
The Systems Administrator will perform in-depth troubleshooting, escalate i ncidents as appropriate , and work collaboratively with other technical teams to resolve complex issues. This role requires a proactive approach to system monitoring, patching, and documentation, along with the ability to support scheduled changes and respond to incidents both during and outside of business hours , as required .
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
Service Operation s
+ Provide day-to-day administration and support of client systems, servers, and infrastructure .
+ Monitor system health, capacity , and performance using appropriate tools and dashboards .
+ Respond to and resolve escalated service requests and incidents in a timely matter and in accordance with SHIs .
+ Admini ster Service Desks across several government networks with varying sizes and classifications .
+ Ensure that service operations adhere to relevant SoWs, SHIs, and ITIL-based service management practices .
+ Participate in on-call and 24x7 support rosters , as required .
Incident & Problem Management
+ Conduct root cause analysis for re curring issues and develop preventative measures .
+ Escalate complex or unresolved issues to L3 , where necessary .
+ Maintain clear and detailed records of incidents, actions taken, and outcomes .
+ Support the Service Desk Manager in tracking ticket trends and recommending service improvement.
Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
+ Perform routine system maintenance, including patching, updates, backups, and health checks.
+ Ident ify and propose opportunities for automation or efficiency improvements within the environment.
+ Assist in onboarding new technologies or services in line with client needs and company strategy.
Collaboration & Documentation
+ Work collaboratively with support staff, providing guidance, mentoring, and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential:
+ Experience supporting Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server 2016/2019/202 2 .
+ Experience supporting virtuali s ation platforms ( eg. VMWare, Nutanix, Hyper- V) .
+ Working knowledge of network fundamentals ( eg. TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, routing/switching) .
+ ITIL V3/4 Foundation Certification.
+ NV1 Security clearance (with the ability to upgrade to NV2) .
+ Ability to troubleshoot complex issues methodically and communicate findings clearly.
+ Strong documentation and organi s ational skills.
Desirable :
+ 2 + years' experience in a similar S ystems A dministration or IT support role.
+ Experience working with government ICT products, services and programs.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential:

+ Foundational understanding of networking (e.g. TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, switching).
+ ITIL V3/4 Foundation Certification (or willingness to obtain).
+ NV1/NV2 Security clearance

The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for Tier 2 Hardware System Maintainer for our Incident and Service Request Response Team to support a client's requirements in a challenging, dynamic setting located in the Alice Springs, AUS. The position requires an active TS/SCI, with Polygraph and approved medical and psychological exams.
The Tier 2 Hardware System Maintainer receives and responds to service requests and problems reported by customers and escalated from Tier 1. The Tier 2 Hardware System Maintainer will work in a highly collaborative environment with teammates, key stakeholders and the Government customer to ensure mission continuity and support to the IC community.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Engage in hardware troubleshooting, repair and replacement.
+ Communicate with customers and technical component's to fully understand the incident, service request or problem.
+ Research problems by accessing internal and external knowledge databases.
+ Facilitate technical communications between operations and development staff.
+ Distribute defect reports and system data collected during anomaly investigations.
+ Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, perform upgrades and support the transition and acceptance of new and modified systems.
+ Analyze customer problems and implement appropriate corrective action to initiate a repair and return to service in the field.
+ Assist with property and asset management.
+ Monitor, review, update and disposition ServiceNow/HelpNow system tickets assigned to program per required timelines and level of information details.
+ Conduct datacenter walkthroughs to proactively identify issues with supported hardware and equipment; resolve or escalate as needed.
**Basic Qualifications:**
To be considered for this position, you must meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
+ TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
+ BA degree and 2 - 4 years of prior relevant experience, Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience or 4+ years of relevant experience.
+ Current DOD 8570 certification applicable to the position (typically Security+).
+ Proven computer hardware and system troubleshooting skills.
+ System administration skills.
+ Ability to recognize and analyze problems, errors, provide innovative solutions to complex problems, and respond appropriately.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
+ Ability to carry/lift 30 pounds of equipment.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Working knowledge of ServiceNow/HelpNow.
+ Experience in working with, collaborating with system users and customers.
+ Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing situations.
+ Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness.
