Working closely with HQ product, R&D, and modelling team to gain a solid understanding on hardware, software, RMS and EMT models of our clients products. Support commercial team on bidding preparation by preparing model packages. Support clients on modelling enquiries and troubleshoot model issues. **Job Description**
As our energy team continues to grow, we are seeking a Senior Primary / Power Systems Engineer to join us in Perth. This senior role offers the chance to lead both primary and secondary system design and analysis, from Grid Interconnection Studies through to substation layout and equipment specification. You will gain extensive experience across islanded systems, BESS, onshore transmission, and more, with opportunities to act as Owner's Engineer (OE) on major projects.
**How you'll make a difference:**
+ Lead utility-scale transmission and renewable integration projects from feasibility through IFT design, covering both primary plant (substation layouts, equipment specification, busbar configurations) and power system studies (steady-state, dynamic, and grid interconnection).
+ Undertake primary system design including substation layouts, earthing and lightning protection, high-voltage equipment selection, busbar ratings, fault studies, and insulation coordination.
+ Conduct advanced grid interconnection and system planning studies, including steady-state and dynamic assessments, cable ratings using CYMCAP, and generator integration to ensure system stability.
+ Provide technical leadership and guidance on AS Standards, WEM rules, Western Power requirements, and grid connection specifications across both primary and power systems domains.
+ Perform Owner's Engineer duties, including design reviews, site inspections, grid compliance testing, and mentoring junior engineers.
+ Collaborate with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers, clients, OEMs, network operators, and contractors producing technical reports, presentations, and supporting strategic renewable and energy transition initiatives.

The Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join a collaborative team focused on developing and connecting wind farms and battery energy storage systems (BESS) . This role offers the opportunity to apply and expand your technical expertise in power systems while making a direct contribution to the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver grid connection studies for wind farms and BESS projects, including:
- Model development in PSSE, PSCAD, and PowerFactory.
- Model tuning in accordance with NER Clause S5.2.5.
- Conducting DMAT, SSIAG, and benchmarking exercises, and preparing submission packages (R0/R1/R2).
- Lead and support testing activities for wind farms and BESS, including Hold Point testing, model overlays, performance verification, reporting, and liaison with AEMO/NSPs.
- Provide technical support to external stakeholders on models and products.
- Collaborate with external consultants to deliver technical analysis aligned with project requirements.
- Assist Grid Connection Managers with technical matters in Power Systems as required.
- Proven experience in power systems engineering and/or control engineering.
- Proficiency with PSCAD, PSS/E, and PowerFactory software.
- Familiarity with NEM grid connection processes and testing procedures.

Job Description
As our energy team continues to grow, we are seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to join us in Perth. This senior role offers the chance to lead Grid Interconnection Studies and gain extensive experience across Islanded Systems, BESS, onshore transmission, and more, with opportunities to act as Owner’s Engineer (OE) on major projects.
How you’ll make a difference:
Lead utility-scale power system projects from feasibility through detailed design, integrating solar, wind, and battery storage systems. Conduct advanced grid interconnection and system planning studies, including steady-state and dynamic assessments, cable ratings using CYMCAP, and generator integration to ensure system stability. Provide technical leadership and guidance on AS Standards, WEM rules, Western Power requirements, and grid connection specifications. Perform Owner’s Engineer duties, including design reviews, site inspections, grid compliance testing, and mentoring junior engineers. Collaborate with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers, clients, OEMs, network operators, and contractors producing technical reports, presentations, and supporting strategic renewable and energy transition initiatives.

Proven expertise in power system analysis tools: PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, and ability to solve complex engineering challenges. Deep knowledge of grid connection processes, utility-scale performance standards, WEM rules, and AEMO WEM Power System Modelling guidelines. Extensive experience preparing technical design documentation, with strong grasp of control and protection for high-voltage equipment, transmission lines, and generators. Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of advising clients, guiding teams, drafting proposals, and driving business opportunities under tight deadlines.

Tasks
As a System Engineer, you work on customer projects, solve engineering challenges, and support our customers in Europe and ASIA Pacific as part of our managed services team.
Your task and duties will include:
provisioning, maintaining, configuring, and upgrading Linux server systems and/or cloud-managed services and applications
debugging and troubleshooting Linux server systems and/or cloud systems, providing in-depth technical support and assistance
solving specialized issues and eliminating the causes of malfunctions, if necessary in cooperation with software suppliers

creating main components of technical documentation from scratch

Requirements
Must-Have Hard Skills
You have at least two years of work experience as a system engineer in a Linux-centric environment.
You have good knowledge in current open-source technologies as well as Cloud and DevOps customer journeys and/or enterprise IT requirements (e.g., IAM, Web/App Servers, Collaboration, Groupware, Database, SAP/HANA, Virtualization, Containers, Linux Clustering, Systems Management).
You have a good working knowledge of computer science fundamentals (e.g., compilers, linkers, and interpreters; lower 4 OSI layers / TCP/IP stack)
You can write code that includes basic error handling routines such as catching and displaying error messages or logging errors for further analysis.
You can fix existing automations and write and implement new ones that execute simple changes (e.g., account deletion) and are triggered by the system.
