Role Seniority - mid level, senior
More about the Program Educational Facilitator for Young Adults with disabilities (17-35, low support needs) role at Co-Hive
Build Connections. Empower Change. Shape What’s Next.
Location: Alexandria, Sydney
Employment: Full-time or part-time (minimum 6-month commitment)
Salary: Based on experience
About Co-Hive
Co-Hive is a purpose-driven and fast-growing organisation based in Alexandria, Sydney, dedicated to supporting young adults with disability aged 17–35 as they transition from school to adult life. In just 18 months, Co-Hive has emerged as a game-changing service — winning “Best New Disability Service” at the Australian Disability Service Awards 2024 and gaining national recognition for doing things differently.
We’re here to fill a critical gap. Too often, young people with disability leave school full of dreams, but quickly lose direction as they face a system that isn’t built for them. Co-Hive is rewriting that story — helping participants build skills, confidence, and independence through hands-on, person-led programs that lead to real outcomes in open employment, social connection, and independent living.
Our model is bold, creative, and grounded in real relationships. We co-design every program with participants and their families and work closely with employers, educators, and community partners to build pathways that truly empower. Our work is guided by the core values of self-determination, inclusion, and possibility.
With strong demand and a growing reputation, Co-Hive is now preparing to expand across NSW and beyond. This is a rare opportunity to join a team at the forefront of change — and help shape the future of an organisation already making a profound difference in people’s lives.
About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate Program Facilitator to lead one of our 20-week group programs. This role goes beyond teaching — it’s about designing meaningful learning experiences, inspiring personal growth, and helping participants develop the skills they need to move towards employment, independence, and a fulfilling adult life.
You’ll work closely with a Program Assistant and be supported by a strong, multidisciplinary team who bring expertise across education, employment, therapy, health, and creative industries. You’ll be guided by the Program Manager and play a key role in shaping the learning environment at Co-Hive.
What You’ll Do
As a Program Facilitator at Co-Hive, you’ll lead the full cycle of program delivery — from design and planning through to facilitation and review. You’ll inspire and empower participants, build strong relationships, and ensure your sessions are inclusive, practical, and aligned to their individual goals.
Your key responsibilities include:
Program Design & Preparation
Plan and structure your 20-week program around clear participant goals and learning outcomes
Create engaging, inclusive sessions that combine theory with hands-on experiences
Integrate creative tools and digital technologies (e.g., Canva, Google Workspace, AI) to enhance learning
Adapt content to meet the diverse needs, interests, and support requirements of your group
Program Delivery
Deliver high-quality, motivating sessions that promote independence, confidence, and real-world skill development
Foster a fun, safe, and collaborative learning environment
Use a mix of on-site and community-based experiences to bring learning to life
Promote active participation and peer connection in every session
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and mentor your Program Assistant(s) to ensure smooth session delivery and strong participant support
Share your planning and vision, delegate tasks, and provide constructive feedback
Work collaboratively with other facilitators and the Program Manager to deliver high-impact programs across the hub
Contribute to a positive, connected workplace culture built on shared values
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
Track participant progress and outcomes using Co-Hive’s internal systems
Provide feedback to participants and families throughout the program
Evaluate the effectiveness of your program using data and participant feedback
Maintain clear and accurate documentation to meet NDIS reporting and compliance standards
You’ll be supported by a highly experienced Program Manager and a passionate, skilled team. You’ll never work in isolation — Co-Hive’s collaborative model ensures you’re always surrounded by people who want to learn from each other, share ideas, and make a lasting difference.
We’re Looking For Someone With:
Experience delivering group learning or capacity-building programs (ideally for people with disability or in education/community settings)
A background in Education or experience as a Program Facilitator
Strong digital and planning skills — confident using tools like Google Workspace, Canva, and AI
The ability to adapt content and communication to different learning styles
A participant-focused mindset that is empathetic, inclusive, and empowering
A creative, proactive approach with a commitment to high standards
A passion for innovation, inclusion, and lifelong learning
Experience or Knowledge in One or More of the Following Areas is Highly Regarded:
Education or Training
Employment and Career Development
Sports and Fitness
Drama and Performing Arts
Horticulture or Animal Care
Hospitality and Tourism
Technology and Digital Media
Why Join Co-Hive?
A connected, supportive team that values innovation and collaboration
Opportunities to co-design and deliver programs that reflect your strengths and passions
The chance to make a real difference in people’s lives — and have fun doing it
A workplace that values wellness, flexibility, and professional growth
Ongoing training, coaching, and development opportunities
Before we jump into the responsibilities of the role. No matter what you come in knowing, you’ll be learning new things all the time and the Co-Hive team will be there to support your growth.
