Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Create and update innovative menus, featuring seasonal items and limited-time specials to enhance the dining experience.
• Develop, test, and improve recipes based on customer feedback and current food trends.
• Ensure all menu items are consistent in quality, creativity, and variety.
• Monitor food costs, control expenses, and assist in setting profitable pricing strategies.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations and supervise food preparation to maintain high standards and efficiency.
• Prepare and cook complex menu items, including those with special dietary requirements such as gluten free, vegan, allergen-free and culturally specific meals.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, flavor, and presentation.
• Assign kitchen duties and monitor staff performance to ensure productivity, efficiency and timely service.
• Regularly perform quality checks to ensure culinary standards are met.
• Manage kitchen expenses by controlling food costs, reducing waste, and using resources wisely.
• Lead the hiring, training, and supervision of kitchen staff to ensure compliance with procedures, hygiene standards, food handling and safety.
• Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment and support staff development.
• Conduct regular stock checks to minimise wastage and manage supplies efficiently to meet budgetary requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and facilities to ensure cleanliness and proper functionality and adherence to health, hygiene, safety and HACCP regulations.
• Set and manage kitchen budgets, keeping food and labor costs within target.
• Maintain strong communication with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and engage with customers to uphold the restaurant’s brand and service standards.
• Gather and act on customer feedback to continuously improve food and service.
Eligibility requirements:
• Certificate IV or Diploma in the relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of full-time relevant experience working as a Chef.
• Able to work independently and manage tasks without constant supervision.
• Experienced in leading and supervising a kitchen team.
• Strong communication skills for working with team members and customers.
• Good understanding of safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
• Capable of working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

**About the role**
As **Head of Operations** , you'll lead one of our Tier 3 manufacturing sites to deliver world-class performance across safety, quality, service, and cost. You'll be a visible, inspiring leader, spending time on the shop floor while driving strategy, continuous improvement, and breakthrough results.
You will:
+ Deliver against the balanced scorecard - improving productivity, OEE, COGS, service (OTIF), and governance KPIs.
+ Lead the MMS journey to build performance, standards, capability, and asset care.
+ Own site strategy, long-range planning, and the annual operating plan.
+ Champion safety, quality, environmental and compliance standards (ISO/HACCP).
+ Coach and develop leaders and teams, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
**What you need to bring to this role**
+ Degree qualification in engineering, business, supply chain or science, or equivalent experience (NEBOSH qualified).
+ At least 10 years' experience with a strong track record in FMCG manufacturing/production.
+ Proven expertise in packaging, processing and plant technologies.
+ Fluent English is essential.
+ A proven champion of manufacturing excellence tools, systems and leadership practices.
+ Demonstrated ability to build a high-performance climate across large, multi-disciplinary teams.
+ Experience partnering with employee groups and representatives in a leadership capacity.
+ A strong track record as a coach, with excellent engagement and communication skills.
+ Sound financial acumen and commercial awareness.

**The Opportunity**

You will be responsible for our Melbourne, Perth & Adelaide Production Teams which are comprised of our most senior technical experts, Technical Directors. You will also act as a technical advisor/expert across the Southwest region of the business.
**Core Responsibilities**
+ Drive and oversee the production team

+ Monitor pre-production process to ensure consistent and successful delivery of events
+ Advise on the purchase of technical equipment to ensure alignment between customer requirements and technical capability and efficiency
+ Participate in weekly WIP meetings with crewing, operations, sales and production to analyse upcoming fortnightly events
+ Contribute to our risk management programs and ensure compliance from the production team
+ Support our technical training programs
