Working within the Civil Engineering discipline group, you will provide civil engineering services to the Defence, Water, Transport, and Buildings markets. delivering projects including civil infrastructure, roads, rail, buildings civil, water infrastructure, and land developments.
As the Principal Civil Engineer, you will have a variety of responsibilities such as leading and overseeing engineering design, preparing engineering calculations, technical specifications, streamlining the production of deliverables, and preparing technical reports and proposals.
You will ensure that technical adherence and quality assurance standards are met by managing the design team and providing them with guidance and supervision on all civil engineering deliverables. As the ideal applicant you will have:
+ A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
+ CPEng preferred.

**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years' relevant project technical experience in the consulting or engineering industry
+ Relevant tertiary qualifications (Civil Engineering)
+ CPEng/NER accreditation
+ Registered Design Practitioner or on pathway to achieve, highly desirable
+ Strong leadership capabilities and experience managing teams and projects
+ Proven ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships
+ A track record of driving business performance through technical and commercial contributions
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and influence

Responsibilities:
+ Undertake with the assistant engineers, the development of Technical Investigations and Technical Instructions relating to platform systems, including the verification and validation of technical data.
+ Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop design requirements in the context of engineering change management and configuration management relating to Mechanical and Electrical platform systems.
+ Participate in Engineering design Reviews and the development of Engineering Support Reports.
+ Work both within and to the requirements of the Authorised Engineering Organisation.
+ Work to the requirements of Contractor Engineering Management Plan.
+ Assist with preparation and/or review of work instructions and maintenance schedules.
+ Conducting work to a high standard, including work on engineering reports and design contract documents.
+ Working within Certification Standards and established industry practices.
+ Develop and maintain relationships with key customer and supplier contacts.
+ Provide assistance to team members including graduate levels as and when required.
+ Other duties as directed.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
+ Degree qualified, Chartered Professional Engineer
+ Demonstrated ability to develop and execute Systems Engineering Management Plans.
+ Hands-on experience in configuration management practice.
+ Working knowledge of ASDEFCON Contracting framework (above and/or below the line).
+ Experience in risk management.
+ Experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) planning and test execution.
+ The ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance.

+ Provide project leadership for geotechnical matters and from a point of view related to geotechnical engineering. Participate in the successful delivery of projects from a commercial, financial and technical point of view.
+ Provide mentorship and technical support to junior geotechnical engineers and assist the Team Leader with developing the technical capability and capacity of the team. Assist the Team Leader to ensure technical excellence and sound delivery of all project related work.
+ Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
+ Apply advanced knowledge of current principles and practices of geotechnical engineering and keeps informed of new methods and developments.
**Qualifications**
**To be successful for this role you'll need to:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.
+ Ideally have 10 years of experience in a similar capacity with professional registration.
+ Engineer of record on own work product, work of non-licensed engineers and technologist (i.e. Sign PS1s for own work and work supervised).
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills to develop, maintain and enhance internal and client relationships.
+ Proven experience in time management and organisational skills including the ability to manage resources and delegate tasks effectively.
+ Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn.
