NDS is seeking a dynamic Project Lead to deliver Project BOOST NSW, a high-impact initiative focused on workforce development and inclusive employment, with a variety of stakeholder engagement.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead meaningful work during a significant period of reform in the disability sector.
- Working Arrangement: Hybrid
- Hours: Full-time, 38 hours, 5 days per week
- Status: Permanent, fixed-term or casual
- Lead the delivery of Project BOOST across key regions of NSW including Blacktown, Dubbo and Broken Hill.
- Develop strategies to attract and retain a diverse disability workforce, including First Nations people, people with disability, and Culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Strengthen and promote the BuyAbility social enterprise platform across NSW.
- Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including disability services providers, Regional Development Australia, Disability Advocacy groups, Local Jobs Program, and the Australian Human Rights Commission.
- Represent NDS at forums, workshops, and conferences, and contribute to broader sector development initiatives.
- Experience in the health, social care, or disability sectors.

About the Opportunity

During this exciting growth period, we have an opportunity for Principal Civil Engineers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering a wide range of civil infrastructure projects and will be familiar, in particular, with civil engineering design for building civil works, defence, and civil infrastructure projects.
Working within the Civil Engineering discipline group, you will provide civil engineering services to the Defence, Water, Transport, and Buildings markets. delivering projects including civil infrastructure, roads, rail, buildings civil, water infrastructure, and land developments.
As the Principal Civil Engineer, you will have a variety of responsibilities such as leading and overseeing engineering design, preparing engineering calculations, technical specifications, streamlining the production of deliverables, and preparing technical reports and proposals.
You will ensure that technical adherence and quality assurance standards are met by managing the design team and providing them with guidance and supervision on all civil engineering deliverables. You will liaise directly with the Project Manager, Design Manager, and Client to provide regular project updates and prepare technically sound and well-written proposals and reports.
As the ideal applicant you will have:
+ A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
+ CPEng preferred.
+ Extensive experience working within an engineering consulting environment.
+ Experience working in a broad range of infrastructure projects within a multi-disciplinary environment.
+ Previous experience in Civil Infrastructure for projects in one or more of the defence, building civil, and transport sectors is essential in the role.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Familiarity with relevant standards and design guidelines to the civil engineering discipline.
+ The ability to obtain chartership within a reasonable agreed time frame.
+ Practical knowledge and commitment to Health and Safety.
+ Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance.

The Project Controls Lead (PCL) works closely with leadership in Business Operations (BusOps), Projects & Construction (P&C), and other functional areas to deliver optimized project controls services for a broad array of projects in construction, operation, maintenance and management of facility assets, infrastructure and systems.
The PCL will lead a cross functional project controls team developing, maintaining, and optimizing systems to manage project schedules, costs, risks, performance, and contract changes. The PCL is the central hub for project controls-ensuring timelines, costs, and forecasts are aligned across teams.
The PCL will possess strong leadership, team management, time management, and resource management capabilities, strong written and verbal communication skills, and tactful negotiation skills.
**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Directly and in coordination with project schedulers, develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules across the full project portfolio as well as a centralized master schedule.
+ Collaborate closely with pricing, finance, subcontracts, and project managers to ensure cohesive project controls
+ Maintain and update project budgets, forecasts, and Estimates at Completion (EACs) in collaboration with project managers and finance
+ Monitor project performance metrics and proactively identify risks or
+ deviations from plan
+ Provide regular reporting and analysis to stakeholders, including variance analysis and recommendations. Prepare standard weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting as required by leadership or for contract deliverables to the customer.
