About the Opportunity
KBR is very well positioned, amongst a breadth of other existing and upcoming projects, to support the Department of Defence to deliver on the Nuclear Submarine Infrastructure pipeline.
During this exciting growth period, we have an opportunity for Principal Civil Engineers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering a wide range of civil infrastructure projects and will be familiar, in particular, with civil engineering design for building civil works, defence, and civil infrastructure projects.
Working within the Civil Engineering discipline group, you will provide civil engineering services to the Defence, Water, Transport, and Buildings markets. delivering projects including civil infrastructure, roads, rail, buildings civil, water infrastructure, and land developments.
As the Principal Civil Engineer, you will have a variety of responsibilities such as leading and overseeing engineering design, preparing engineering calculations, technical specifications, streamlining the production of deliverables, and preparing technical reports and proposals.
You will ensure that technical adherence and quality assurance standards are met by managing the design team and providing them with guidance and supervision on all civil engineering deliverables. You will liaise directly with the Project Manager, Design Manager, and Client to provide regular project updates and prepare technically sound and well-written proposals and reports.

As the ideal applicant you will have:
+ A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
+ CPEng preferred.
+ Extensive experience working within an engineering consulting environment.
+ Experience working in a broad range of infrastructure projects within a multi-disciplinary environment.
+ Previous experience in Civil Infrastructure for projects in one or more of the defence, building civil, and transport sectors is essential in the role.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Familiarity with relevant standards and design guidelines to the civil engineering discipline.
+ The ability to obtain chartership within a reasonable agreed time frame.
+ Practical knowledge and commitment to Health and Safety.

The Project Engineer - Wind Farms is responsible for taking a lead role in project managing the engineering aspects of GEV's Wind Farm projects. The core function of the Lead Project Engineer is to coordinate with internal and external design teams, construction contractors and stakeholders to ensure that the Wind Turbine and the Balance of Plant (BoP) works are designed, constructed and commissioned to a high standard and within the scope of the contract.
**Job Description**
· Technical interface with Commercial Operations, Requisition Engineering (for Manufacturing, Engineering, Compliance/Certification, Supply Chain), and Project Management teams for the Order-to-Remittance (OTR) process for Wind Farms.
· Technical input for the preparation of tenders and offers in line with customers technical and administrative requirements furnished in tender.
· Ensure that the Wind Farm engineering deliverables are implemented from the initial definition of customer requirements, planning the works through to the final handover to the client.
· Providing technical support to Engineering, Sourcing, Vendors and Installation teams to ensure equipment meets customers, contractual, regulatory requirements and business objectives.
· Coordinate with subcontractors, customers, Owners' Engineer and internal stakeholders on technical matters, documentation, design review, RFI and Turbine & BoP technical specifications reviews. Organize construction certificate, building permit and site retrofits.
· Collaborate with other GEV Onshore Wind functions to determine root cause and define both corrective and preventive actions for turbine or fleet issues in a timely manner. Prepare technical letters, Enable Red Flag Review (RFR), manage product quality issues and minimize COQ.
· Provide feedback to GEV's proposal group and other services throughout the project using the lessons learned process.
· Participate in the risk assessment of technical aspects of the project and the development and application of appropriate risk mitigation measures.
· Attend the site visits, work from site when necessary collect required information and data, and then prepare site visit report.
· Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.
· Conducting frequent reviews with internal and external stakeholders on technical and commercial change orders (ICO/ECO) during construction phase. Enable effective implementation of digital tools and process.
· Ensure project execution deliverables are comply with local regulatory requirements and standards.
· Coordinate the preparation of the engineering subcontracting activities (scope, deliverables, inputs, schedule,) and organise site retrofit, inspections, testing, quality documentations and certificates etc.
· Manage engineering budget, monitor EAC (Estimate After Completion) and make relevant corrective actions.
· Participate/coordinate Wind farm energization process, Grid connection and testing with AEMO and NSP. Acquire required compliance certificates or approvals from governing authorities.
· Participate in project handover process to the customers, services team upon completion (COD).
**Qualifications/Requirements**
· Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial Engineering from an accredited college or university in regular stream preferred.
· Minimum of 7 years proven experience in project engineering, project management
· Understanding of project engineering, wind farm construction methodologies, engineering processes, engineering tools and templates
· Demonstrated and strong ability to clearly communicate complex/technical information, fluency in English.
· Willingness to climb turbines when necessary, ability to work at heights without any restriction
· Proficient in a range of general computer software packages

· Experience with Wind Farm project engineering, project management, site construction.

**Basic Job Requirements**
**What does that look like?**
The purpose of this position provides an oversight for contract management activities on our Fluor project. This role ensures, through assigned contract administrators, compliance with all statutes, regulations, and contract terms and conditions.
General Tasks/Duties include:
· Develop project contract templates
· Development & Issue of Tender documents for ECI through to Construction contracts
· Development and issue of BPRs
· Evaluate Budget Quotation Pricing and develop pricing summaries to support DPS Estimate
· Contract Administration of ECI packages
· Evaluate ECI deliverables in the development and negotiation of Construction contracts
· Support PCM with development of Contracting Strategy, Plan & general reporting requirements
· Tender, Award and administration of assigned Contract Packages
**Specific experience listed below will be advantageous to the successful candidate:**
- Prior work experience with BHP systems and processes (or Olympic Dam)
- Prior work within an IPT or JV environment.
- Shut-down contract management.
- Developing Contracting strategy and ability to implement including stakeholder engagement
