**The Opportunity**
The Technical Director is responsible in providing high end technical and event expertise and to be a resource for the entire event production process from the event inception through to the final delivery. The role is also responsible for the effective supervision of technicians in the delivery, installation, operation, and removal of audio-visual equipment required to operate shows of any size and complexity.

+ Develops event objective - reviews and develops event proposals in co-ordination with key stakeholders
+ Determines event specifications - creates event design based on customer requirements and ensures cost estimates stay within budget parameters
+ Develops and maintains event schedule within specifications estimating labour, equipment and transport requirements
+ Publishes show brief information including schedules, floor plans, schematics
+ Attends client meetings and briefings as required
+ Manages the financial integrity of the event
+ Provides technical advice to sales department and assists with cost estimates as required
+ Provide in-bound sales team with cost estimates and check out-bound estimates on daily basis in areas of specification, equipment availability & suitability

Our ANZ Pavement team is looking to recruit an experienced and highly skilled Technical Director to join our Melbourne office. In this role, you will drive delivery of pavement projects for our Australian and New Zealand teams. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in technical excellence and innovation in pavement engineering across a range of complex infrastructure projects. As a valued member of the Pavements team, opportunities will exist to be involved in a project from the earliest stages of planning, design, and all the way through to construction phase services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, or a related field

  • 8+ years of experience, with 3 years in a leadership role preferred

  • Experience in managing implementation and advisory projects, preferably in software, SaaS, or technology consulting industries

  • Demonstrated ability to lead distributed teams across multiple countries and time zones

  • Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills

  • Strong financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management

  • Ability to navigate cultural and regional differences

+ Successfully deliver complex projects, working within high performing interdisciplinary teams and contributing to the financial success of a business.
+ Contribute to decision making and challenge how our projects are being delivered.
+ Work closely with our senior team of experienced engineers, project technical leads, design managers and other project managers to continue our excellent project delivery track record.
+ Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals.

**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering (or associated disciplines).
+ Project Management qualifications/certifications preferred (e.g. Project Management Professional) or working towards the attainment of a recognised qualification / certification.
+ **_Consultancy experience is a necessary requirement for this role, with Water industry experience being highly regarded_**
+ Demonstrated delivery capability and track record
+ Demonstrated project team leadership skills
+ Solid technical understanding of water infrastructure preferred, including some or all of the following:
+ Water and sewerage networks.
+ Water and wastewater treatment plants.
+ Water resources projects.
+ Dams and pumped hydro infrastructure.
