  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.

The Opportunity:
KBR is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Land Systems Division, working within the Heavy Armoured Systems Program Office (HASPO) to support the Armoured Fighter Vehicle (AFV) Branch. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to some of Australia's most strategically important land programs, including the Abrams Main Battle Tank (LAND 907 Phase 2) and Armoured Recovery Vehicle (LAND 8160 Phase 1) projects.
In this role, you will lead and deliver complex acquisition and sustainment activities across heavy armoured vehicle fleets, working closely with Defence, international stakeholders, and industry partners to ensure capability outcomes are achieved on time, within scope, and to required standards.
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 Clearance or above should apply.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead project planning, execution, and reporting for AFV acquisition and sustainment activities within CASG frameworks.
+ Develop and manage project schedules, risk registers, and performance baselines to achieve agreed milestones.
+ Provide project management and commercial expertise in the development of acquisition strategies, tender evaluations, contract negotiations, and performance management of industry partners.
+ Coordinate Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes, including stakeholder engagement with the US Department of Defense, OEMs, and compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations.
+ Integrate project management activities with engineering, ILS, and sustainment functions to deliver coherent capability outcomes.
+ Prepare and present reports, briefs, and documentation to senior Defence stakeholders and industry partners.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support KBR proposals when required.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
+ Essential: Demonstrated Defence project management experience within CASG or a related Defence environment.
+ Essential: Strong commercial acumen and experience applying ASDEFCON contracting frameworks, drafting contractual documentation, and leading tender evaluation processes.
+ Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Engineering, or Project Management (or equivalent experience).
+ Knowledge of the Defence Capability Life Cycle and acquisition governance requirements.
+ Experience working on Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs highly desirable.
+ Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across government, industry primes, and subcontractors.
+ Current or ability to obtain NV1 Defence Security Clearance.

The role:
+ Create and foster relationships between the Product Marketing, Applications & Engineering support function and sales region.
+ Responsible for ensuring the projects are delivered on time and budget, including monthly reporting of financial and team performance.
+ Lead a project team in a matrixed environment to deliver a project including sales, design, engineering, supply chain, finance, product marketing and applications, legal and EHS&S.
+ Provide advice and support to the customers on a range of Xylem products and services.
+ Drive improvement opportunities in the Project Delivery Team.
+ Contribute to Xylem's local business through attendance at branch and customer meetings as required.

As a Project Manager within the ADATS CAP program, you will assist the program manager in managing the acquisition and integration of system upgrades across Defence Air Traffic Control sites. You will be part of an expert team of engineering, logistics and installation specialists integrating modern COTS solutions by setting the vision and using your unique leadership skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Assist with the day to day management of integrating major system upgrades with existing ADATS infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation across multiple RAAF sites nationwide.
+ Manage program risk, budget, schedule, and program reporting (Estimates at Completion (EACs) and Program Management Reviews (PMRs) in accordance with Raytheon approved processes.
+ Manage and coordinate external resources (vendors and support agencies).
+ Conduct planning & coordination of program requirements & resources to meet the integration objectives for the system upgrade.
+ Prepare progress and status reporting to meet ATM Capability Assurance (ATM CAP) customer and Raytheon requirements.
+ Deliver quality outcomes to the customer and end users through all phases of the acquisition of the system upgrades.
+ Maintain excellent relationships with the customer through continuous and accurate communication.
**Qualifications, Experience and Skills**
+ Relevant tertiary qualification in either, Program or Business Management, or equivalent experience; with a minimum of 3years' experience in a defence project management role or relevant experience;
+ Demonstrated competence in Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) competencies;
+ Sound understanding of military operations across, Air, Land, Maritime, Space and Information Domains and proven understanding of Joint Operations.
+ Proven ability to work both as an individual and as a member of a high-performance team.
+ Strongly developed interpersonal skills and able to influence stakeholders at an operational level and the ability to develop solutions that meet complex customer requirements.
+ Demonstrated experience with planning and scheduling range availability for multiple configurations and multiple customers.
