Job Details
With 5 operating rooms, the perioperative unit provides a 5 day a week elective surgical service as well as a 24/7 non-elective/emergency service to Alice Springs and outlying communities. Around 500 cases per month are carried out, approximately 55% of those are non-elective. Specialties provided include general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics, minor vascular, ear nose and throat, ophthalmology, urology, dental, endoscopy, trauma and emergency surgery.
The Location
You will be living in Alice Springs which is the hub of the Northern Territory! The perfect base to explore central Australia from.
Nestled between the East and West MacDonnell Ranges, ‘Alice’ is famous for its beautiful desert landscapes, colourful outback characters, opportunities for adventure and a strong Aboriginal culture.

You will be working in a private hospital committed to excellence in patient care, innovation and professional development. The facility is comprised of 240 beds, with 11 operating theatre suites caters for most surgical specialties including, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, vascular, urology, colorectal, orthopaedics, breast, and gynaecology and the busiest (da Vinci) Robotics unit in Australia performing over 40,000 procedures a year! - RN 1.1 $38.44 up to RN 3.4 $5.78 per hour + 12% Superannuation + shift allowances

Your Main Duties

- Preparing the operating room.
- Working closely with the surgical team by providing the necessary instruments and equipment during procedures
- Maintaining a sterile environment
- Monitoring vital signs, ensuring proper positioning, and assisting with any additional care required during procedures
- Accurate documentation
- Current registration with AHPRA, with no restrictions
- Working with Children's Check
- National Police Check
- At least 12 months of experience in Theatre Nursing
