We (TEHMAR Pty Ltd) are in urgent need of a Diesel Mechanic to start immediately in remote Western Australia.



This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Commensurate with your experience, you will be remunerated between $95,000 to $110,000 per annum plus the applicable superannuation.



You will be expected to:



• Perform detecting and diagnosing of faults in engines and associated parts as required.

• Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other drive train components and the checking and refurbishment and replacement of these parts as necessary.

• Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups to ensure the equipment is performing at per the OEM’s specification and capability.

• Be able to work in a team environment while conducting repairs and maintenance on TEHMAR’s equipment.

• Be able to do hydraulic system fault diagnosis and support work.

• Be able to work and support large mechanical type repairs and reconstruct/reassemble engines and parts after they have been repaired or refurbished.

• Be able to support our apprentice and trainees with knowledge sharing and skill development.

• Be reliable, have a neat presentation, pay attention to detail and can work with minimal supervision.

• Have an appropriate trade certificate as a diesel mechanic or similar. 3 years’ work experience can be acceptable in lieu of formal qualifications.

• Have a minimum of 1-year relevant work experience post qualifications.

Essential skills needed:

• Qualification as a Diesel Mechanic

• Expertise knowledge of current heavy vehicle maintenance requirements.

• Supply & maintain own commercial grade tools, noting a tool maintenance allowance is included in the salary package)

**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Ensuring work is carried out to a consistently high standard.
+ Provision of specialist maintenance services to Test Range instrument systems equipment. This includes light grade and heavy grade maintenance as defined by the equipment maintenance processes.
+ Deployment and operation of Instrumentation Trailers across the Woomera Test Range in support of defence trials.
+ Producing maintenance reports, meeting key performance indicators for technical compliance and contributing to system health indicators for production and program management.
+ Provision of configuration management support to selected mission systems.
+ Provision of support activities for breakdown spares, repairable items, and support and test equipment.
+ Providing technical support in the conduct of engineering and maintenance services and activities for the customer.
+ The role requires regular travel both within Australia and internationally, including approximately 16-20 weeks of instrumented testing per year at Woomera Test Range with typical deployments lasting between 1 to 3 weeks.
+ Working with Diesel Generators, Heavy to Light Trucks and Light Vehicles (LVs) with the ability to further training with specialised Instruments.
+ Perform diagnostic testing to accurately identify issues
**Skills, Experience and Qualifications:**
+ Requires Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
+ Minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification experience required.
+ A demonstrated understanding of commercial vehicle engine and drive train systems
+ A demonstrated understanding of diesel power generation.
+ An understanding of auto electrical systems is highly desirable.
+ Diagnose and fault find finding skills

You can do FIFO from Perth on a 2:1 Roster or work locally in Port Hedland in our busy workshop.
**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:**
+ Deliver a first-class service to our customers across, mining, automotive and power generation
+ Complete breakdown repairs and scheduled maintenance of heavy diesel products
+ Diagnose and repair various engines.
+ Engine rebuilding and reconditioning
+ Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to the Field Service Supervisor
+ Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
**To be successful in this role you will need the following:**
+ Mechanical trades qualified as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (to Australian standards)
+ Experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products in field service. Cummins engines is highly preferred.

+ Previous experience of working in the Pilbara is highly desirable
