**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Support Service Technicians and Lead Technicians in the dismantling, cleaning, and reassembly of mechanical components.
+ Perform workshop tasks such as grit blasting, buffing, painting, tagging, and packaging.
+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation to support quality and data processes.
+ Follow safe and methodical work practices to ensure high-quality outcomes.
+ Assist in the remedial processing of various valves, including PRV, PSV, and control valves.
+ Prepare and paint valves, actuators, and flow control equipment to specification.
+ Accurately label and tag components for traceability.
+ Meet daily work targets and contribute to team goals.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Safely prepare goods for transport using industry-standard techniques.
+ Suggest improvements for cost reduction and process efficiency.
+ Build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with team members.
+ Report on work progress and times in line with Emerson's quality systems.
+ Take on additional duties as required, aligned with your skills and capabilities.
+ Maintain physical fitness to handle manual tasks.
+ Be open to working reasonable overtime to meet delivery deadlines

**For This Role, You Will Need:**

**Trades Assistant - Wetherill Park**
We are looking for a talented Trade Assistant to work in our Wetherill Park Workshop. You will provide support to our team of specialist technicians. You will be an integral team member within our busy rebuild workshop, supporting our Rail & Rebuild business and any other support required in the Workshop.
**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:**
+ Work as part of a highly skilled team to deliver rebuilt engines using multiple types of equipment
+ Cleaning, painting, and polishing of engines and associated components
+ Providing support to technicians
+ Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and remove any hazards
+ Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation and report any issues / incidents to your supervisor
+ Assist with completing required documentation, such as work completed documentation and time sheets via handwritten forms or business system input screens
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**To be successful in this role you will need the following:**
+ Previous experience as a Trade Assistant is highly desirable - ideally with a mechanical aptitude
+ A current Forklift ticket is preferred
+ Current & valid drivers' license required
+ Ability to follow repetitive systems/procedures in a labour-intensive environment
+ Be able to work as part of a team and follow instructions
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Provide high quality and efficient support to a team of mechanics, rebuilding a variety of engines.
Be able to move between jobs, depending on workload and customer timeframes
Previous experience in a mechanical workshop is desirable.
Tooling and uniform provided.

Role
As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and structures. This includes working with materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, and galvanised iron for applications in construction, HVAC, and industrial installations. You will collaborate with supervisors, tradespeople, and site managers to deliver precise and safe workmanship that aligns with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for fabrication and installation.
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, machines, and cutting equipment.
- Assemble and join sheet metal components using welding, riveting, and fastening techniques.
- Install sheet metal products, such as ductwork, roofing, flashing, panels, and frameworks on construction sites.
- Perform modifications or repairs on existing installations, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
- Operate and maintain workshop machinery and tools with care and attention to safety protocols.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on finished products or installations.
- Comply with all site safety requirements and Advanced Group’s work health and safety (WHS) procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
- AQF Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Sheet Metal Working) or similar (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication, installation, or maintenance.
- Proficiency in working with a range of sheet metal tools and machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- White Card (Construction Induction).
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
