Throughout the six-month program, you'll receive structured technical training, and work on real-world projects, and be mentored by expert-level Project Managers. Upon successful completion of the program, you may be offered a full-time role in our Project Management Organization.
Our Perth NextGen Academy kicks off in February 2026. This is a full-time in-office opportunity at our new software development lab on the Swan River in Elizabeth Quay, Perth.
**What** **You'll** **Do:**
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will:
+ Support project coordination by helping track tasks, timelines, and milestones
+ Assist with planning by contributing to schedules and documentation under guidance
+ Join customer meetings to observe and learn how to manage delivery and communication
+ Collaborate with teams across engineering, consulting, and sales to keep projects moving
+ Help monitor risks and raise concerns when things go off track
+ Learn about Rocket's delivery approach and build your understanding of our products and customers
+ Contribute to reporting and help maintain visibility to project progress
+ Use project management tools to track tasks, milestones, and risks
+ Support small projects like upgrades or migrations as you grow in confidence.
+ Participate in continuous improvement by sharing ideas and feedback
**Who You Are:**
+ Permanent resident or citizen of Australia
+ Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or other related fields
+ Recent graduate, or writing your final exams at the end of 2025
+ Curious, self-motivated, with a keen interest in Project Management
+ A collaborative team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project planning software packages
+ Excellent communication skills and strong organizational abilities
+ Ability to manage timelines and multi-task effectively

# Job Summary:
In this role, you will support the planning and organising of the Operarational Readiness, Activation and Transition (ORAT) program from early stage planning through to implementation. The role will involve early engagement with various stakeholders including engineering, construction, commissioning as well as co-ordination with the airport Assets and Operations teams and external airport authorities to put in place robust plans to ensure systems are ready to be integrated into the operational airport while minimising disruption to existing operations.
A specific technical focus of the role is on facility familiarisation training and in the development of the trials program so that the contractor completion program is aligned with the trials program and operating scenarios.
**Note:** This position is for a prospective project in Perth, Australia and any other offer of employment is contingent upon Bechtel being awarded the project.
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Review and comment on plans, programs and schedules related to ORAT
+ Support develop and sequencing of the prgramwide ORAT schedules
+ Plan and coordinate ORAT workshops with all relevant stakeholders
+ Review system turnovers and completions to ensure that the deliverables align with ORAT plans
+ Supports equipment and system startup effort as required
+ Supports operations and maintenance planning as required
+ Monitor and report on ORAT readiness
+ Establish and lead the ORAT team and participants
+ Prepare ORAT reports to support entering into service
+ Work closely with contractors and internal stakeholderes across the program to monitor the progress of operational readiness activities.
+ Ensure all required permits and permissions for execution and completion of ORAT are in place.

+ Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

+ Previous experience with ORAT or operational readiness of a facility similar in nature to an airport
+ Strong knowledge public infrastructure and airside systems or similar systems.
+ Previous experience in operations and maintenance of large public infrastructure facilities
