# Job Summary:
In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's civil/structural aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of utility components and processes. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's civil/structural with respect to utility aspects are met.
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the civil/structural utility engineering work for a global business unit, a project or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications for various utilitites
+ Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates utility components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs)
+ Originates and checks engineering deliverables, such as utility design/relocation design calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
+ Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions
+ Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements
+ Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations
+ Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations
+ Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Civil/Structural requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution
# Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Typically requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Knowledge and experience with civil/structural utility engineering work
+ Familiarity with applicable national and international design codes.
+ Understanding of airline industry and international regulatory codes, standards and design criteria relating to airport design.
+ Experience with integration of airport civil/structural
+ Knowledge of interface management and the management of system to civil and system to system interfaces.

In this role, you will report to a Project Leader - New Runway.
You will supervise field engineers and collectively monitor contractor planning, safety, quality, construction, and workplace relations.
You will monitor that the contractor is compliant with project policies, procedures, site rules and procedures, and is performing within specifications and schedules.
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Ensure that the work by contractors is undertaken in a manner that addresses and eliminates personnel and environmental hazards, and ensure that risk analysis, health risk assessments, and work method statements, where required, are in place.
+ Ensures the contractor's field engineering program tools and deliverables meet contract requirements, and are consistent across assigned area.
+ Provides technical and program guidance and direction to Program teams for submittal and review process of contractor documentation, including inspection and test plans, and procedures and test reports for factory acceptance testing, component testing and system acceptance testing
+ Reviews the contractor's project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule.
+ Identification and resolution of program-wide technical or process issues related to field engineering.
+ Ensure the contractor is executing the contract in line with the terms & conditions set out.
# Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Demonstrated experience in the successful management of major projects in the infrastructure and/or aviation industry.
+ Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved and current knowledge of new methods of design and construction.
+ High level of interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrable delivery of leadership and behavioural change within a large organisation and with outside organizations.
