What You'll DoIn the role of Engineer, Mechanical, your duties will include:
+ Studies, designs, specs, and services mechanical systems.
+ Functions as a technical specialist who makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a far-reaching impact on extensive engineering and related activities.
+ Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies.
+ Performs advisory and consulting work for the organization as a recognized authority for broad program areas or in an intensely specialized area.

Requirements:
+ Must be a US or Australian citizen
+ Must have a US TS/SCI Clearance w/ Poly, or an Australian PV clearance
+ Must have a minimum of a BA/BS in Engineering from an accredited institution
+ Must have a minimum of seven years of mechanical engineering experience
+ Must have a PE-Mechanical license
This role will be located in Alice Springs, at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.

+ Minimum of six years' experience in operational and/or in-service support phases of major programs, preferably in Defence technology and/or regional/remote power generation related industries.
+ Understanding of systems engineering, engineering support, maintenance support, and technical documentation disciplines.
+ Knowledge of product life cycle and experience with system performance metrics.
+ Solid skills in relevant business and engineering applications.
+ Infrequent travel to Adelaide will be required to support engineering investigations as well as travel within Australia for business and development related training.

Due to continued growth and project wins we are looking for a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Sydney to provide support to a variety of multidisciplined projects nationally.
Position Overview:
As the Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) you will provide a assistance to support the delivery of HVAC engineering for projects both locally and nationally. You will have experience in detailed design, consulting or complex engineering projects from the buildings sector and can work on a wide variety of challenging projects. The broad mix of projects and customers will see you working on a diverse scope from building HVAC, industrial gases and industrial ventilation.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Leading the building services mechanical project team on large scale projects.
+ Organise, execute, coordinate, mentor and coach the team and undertake complex engineering tasks.
+ Apply advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes.
+ Be involved in all aspects of design such as contributing to and performing designs, preparing specifications.
+ Operate within KBR's quality management system
+ Discuss and negotiate critical issues within the discipline both internally and with external stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required:
+ Hold an accredited Bachelor of mechanical engineering or equivalent recognised discipline.
+ Significant practical design experience with knowledge of local industry standards and local codes.
+ Solid experience of leading a multi-disciplinary project team and the ability to mentor and develop team members.
+ Experience in preparing and verifying design calculations (including self-checking) using either manual methods or with the aid of computer programs, and guiding designers and drafters in the preparation of drawings and to undertake review of these drawings
+ Proven ability to work in engineering teams and manage projects to scope, budget and program.
+ Significant experience in preparing and reviewing reports and technical specifications
+ The ability to liaise with clients, statutory authorities, and other consultants
+ You are a Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or have eligibility to apply for this accreditation.
+ Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain Defence clearance.

+ Conducting independent checks of E&TS documentation.

+ Ability to obtain Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or equivalent state-based engineering registration
+ Capable of attaining or currently hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance
+ Demonstrated experience as a Professional Engineer or Technician within the aviation industry or demonstrated experience managing the continuing airworthiness of an aircraft type
+ Excellent communication and relationship management skills
+ Demonstrated performance, people leadership and customer interface skills/experience
+ Knowledge of configuration management, airworthiness regulation, and certification concepts utilised by ADF and/or civil operators
+ Direct technical experience in an aircraft related Through Life Support program
