About the Role:
The Senior UX Designer works directly under the Head of Design, focusing on creating user-centric designs based on the head's instructions and documenting requirements. They will be responsible for conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and ensuring that the product's interface is intuitive and user-friendly. This role is crucial for maintaining a high-quality user experience across the SaaS platform, directly impacting customer satisfaction and retention.

The Opportunity

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experience in Mission Critical Environments
- 5+years of developing design documentation (plans, specifications, etc.) for construction and/or permitting.

**A day in the life of a Principal Design Manager looks like:**
* Coordinate all multi‐disciplinary activities and inputs by the technical team, including specialist inputs, to ensure an integrated technical solution.
* Deliver outputs on time and to an appropriate quality
* Bring a can-do solution-focussed attitude to our projects
* Leading engineering projects and managing internal engineering disciplines as well as subcontractors.
* Support our delivery teams during design and construction, acting in a senior leadership and management role on projects. Develop strong client relationships
* Undertake internal technical reviews and verification checks on all aspects of water and wastewater projects.
* Focus on the development of our water and wastewater project delivery expertise, locally and across the ANZ business.
* Identify opportunities and develop high level relationships with our key utility clients and future water focused clients in line with Stantec business strategies.
* Assist in the pursuit and proposal phase of key business development opportunities
* Contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal and ensuring that proposals are prepared to a high standard
* Facilitating design coordination and review meetings with clients and stakeholders, including knowledge of engineering assurance processes and a systems approach to design reviews
* Prepare contract technical specifications, scope of works and technical schedules.
**To be successful for this role you'll present:**
* Tertiary Qualification in relevant Engineering field along with CPEng and RPEQ (or ability to obtain).
* Atleast 10 years civil or process-mechanical water infrastructure engineering experience - design and construction.
* Exceptional leadership abilities including managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
* Advanced knowledge of water and wastewater services and the delivery environment.
* Highly developed problem solving and negotiation skills to resolve disputes that arise
* Strong understanding of D&C or alternative delivery projects.
* Solid report writing with the ability to tell a compelling story.

**Responsibilities**
+ In conjunction with Solar Engineering Manager, works with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to coordinate technical requirements and specifications while ensuring all project deliverables are met on schedule.
+ Ensures project administration correspondence and compliance with documentation requirements relevant to construction projects.
+ Understands design and procurement schedules and how they align with construction schedules and project requirements.
+ Reviews Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation to understand and adhere to key design and engineering requirements.
+ Manages and develops conceptual designs in AutoCAD (or equivalent), preliminary engineering analyses, and performance evaluations providing oversight to Junior Design Engineers to meet client deliverables, standards, codes, and specifications.
+ Manages the development and accuracy of pursuit performance metrics, inclusive of a PVsyst Report.
+ Reviews design documents, shop drawings, datasheets, and other applicable technical information.
+ Understands equipment specifications to integrate design strategies and techniques to construction plans and drawings.
+ Reviews detailed engineering drawings (civil, electrical, structural or others) to ensure compliance with applicable project requirements, construction practicality and efficiency, codes, and standards.
+ Reviews contract documents and specifications to identify overall project requirements and understand impacts and implications to the construction engineering design.
+ Calculates energy losses for designs and review and implement strategies to optimize the overall performance of the system.
+ Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
**Qualifications**
+ Postsecondary degree or diploma in a related discipline (e.g., electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction management, project management, or etc.).
+ 2+ years of engineering experience. Preference will be given to those with experience working in design and engineering roles within utility-scale solar project construction.
+ Working with contract and subcontracts with an ability to understand contractual obligations and responsibilities related to project scope.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills, high level of detail orientation and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting and tight deadlines.
+ Working knowledge of various computer software programs, including AutoCAD and Excel specifically.
+ Ability to learn new software programs and apply understanding to perform technical analyses and problem-solve.
+ Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications.
+ Desire to work in a design function, with an interest in utility scale solar construction, engineering, and design.
+ Effective verbal and written communications skills.
+ Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
