What you’ll be doing in this role


  • You will be a clinical leader in the service, and you will develop, deliver and evaluate resident care plans to meet the individual needs of our residents

  • You’ll liaise with medical and allied health professionals and residents’ family members to advocate for clients’ quality of life

  • Minimum 4 years of nursing experience, including substantial and broad emergency department experience in Australian settings.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Australian Triage Scale (ATS)
    • ALS (Advanced Life Support)
    • Venepuncture and cannulation
  • Confident working in small teams or independently in MPS settings, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of emergency and generalist nursing principles.
  • Strong critical thinking, assessment, and decision-making skills across a diverse patient cohort.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
  • Open to travel and 4-12 week locum contracts in regional/remote Australia.

What you’ll be doing in this role



  • You will be a clinical leader in the service, and you will develop, deliver and evaluate resident care plans to meet the individual needs of our residents

  • You’ll need sharp clinical assessment skills and will take the lead in providing clinical services

  • Get to know each resident and become a fundamental part of their life

  • Play an important role in making sure the care provided meets residents’ individual goals

  • You’ll liaise with medical and allied health professionals and residents’ family members to advocate for clients’ quality of life

  • Supervise and support our Personal Care Workers

  • Practice in a holistic way, using your critical decision-making skills to lead the team.

Who we’re looking for



  • You’ll have previous registered nursing experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin a career in aged care if you have nursing experience in the wider health sector.

  • You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, resourceful, a great time manager, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.

  • You’ll be committed to contemporary aged care nursing practice.

  • You’ll hold a nursing degree with current AHPRA registration.

About the Roles

As a CMR Locum Nurse, you'll play a vital role in mental health care across diverse settings:

Intake & Triage

Manage crisis situations in high-pressure environments, providing immediate support and stabilisation for patients in urgent need.

Inpatient

Deliver day-to-day care for patients in recovery, including medication administration, assessment, and collaborative care planning.

Community

Support patients in their own environments-offering case management, follow-up care, and continuity that drives meaningful outcomes.

Every assignment is a chance to sharpen your clinical skills, make an impact, and build lasting professional connections.

What You'll Need

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (unrestricted)
  • Minimum 2 years' Mental Health nursing experience (strong case management background preferred)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Current driver's licence (essential for regional placements)
  • Willingness to travel and commit to 12-week locum contracts
  • Current Police Check
  • Valid full working rights in Australia

What Are the Benefits?

  • Up to $165 per day for meals & incidentals (claimed via iExpenses through NSW - receipts required). That's $,155 per week, and over a 12-week contract you can claim up to 13,860!
