multi-cloud environment, including AWS and GCP, with a focus on Operational
Excellence, Security, and Reliability. This is a hands-on role where you will apply your
Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) skills using tools like Terraform and Serverless Framework
to deliver and maintain our architecture.Day to day you will:Build infrastructure using IaC tooling such as Terraform and Serverless framework.Own and deliver any non-functional requirements associated with roadmap items, including Observability, Availability, Scalability, and Security.Provide guidance to squads on architecture to ensure high availability.Ensure visibility of overall cost, project specific costs, and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.Perform periodic reviews of infrastructure across AWS's Well-Architected framework and address gaps and issues.Ensure visibility of infrastructure at the Account, Project, and Service levels by creating and updating Cloudwatch dashboards and other observability systems.Participate and provide input in governance forums such as with Nine and AWS.Document and manage infrastructure risks, and communicate them to key stakeholders.Recommend and apply security best practices from industry frameworks such as CIS, NIST, and ISO 27000.Proactively review CVEs and run scans on infrastructure to secure Drive's infrastructure.Review insights from systems such as Intruder, Cloudability, and Cloudwatch to identify potential security risks.Maintain Page, Cache, and Firewall rules across AWS, Cloudflare, and GCP to ensure Drive's systems are protected from malicious activity.QualificationsWhat you'll bring:Essential Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Computing or equivalent.At least 5 years' experience in virtualized environments like AWS or GoogleCloud.At least 3 years of system, network, and application server experience supportingLinux/Unix infrastructure.Expert-level knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python/Node).Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform andServerless framework.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to establishand maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.A proactive, "can-do" attitude with the ability to work both independently andcollaboratively.Nice-to-Haves:Experience maintaining distributed, containerized infrastructure using servicessuch as SQS, ECS Fargate, and RDS Serverless.Experience with cost management, budgeting, and reservations in AWS andGCP.Familiarity with common SIEM tools and security frameworks such as NIST.Experience managing cache rules and firewall rules in AWS and Cloudflare. AECOM's Water Team in Perth is currently looking for an experienced water infrastructure engineer, who has a passion for technical excellence and is keen to further develop their experience in delivering multi-disciplinary projects in a global organisation.
The Water Infrastructure group provides services to a range of internal and external clients on projects covering water and wastewater treatment, dams, major conveyance, industrial, civil infrastructure, and defence sectors, with a key focus on supporting sustainable outcomes for our clients and the communities they serve.
