CRITERIA:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Qualifications: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years experience in Critical Care setting, ICU, CCU, HDU within Australia or New Zealand. Ventilation competency. ALS.
- Desirable: CCRT competency, Post Graduate qualification in critical care nursing (or similar), experience using Draeger or Hamilton ventilators. PALS.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with patients and team members effectively.
- Collaboration : Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

- Proficiency in:
- Australian Triage Scale (ATS)
- ALS (Advanced Life Support)
- Venepuncture and cannulation
- Confident working in small teams or independently in MPS settings, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of emergency and generalist nursing principles.
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and decision-making skills across a diverse patient cohort.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
- Open to travel and 4-12 week locum contracts in regional/remote Australia.

- Casual Position - Availability for night shifts needed
- Permanent Part-time position, Monday to Friday, Evening shift
- Up to $52.66 p/h + relevant loadings
About Uniting Edinglassie Lodge
Uniting Edinglassie Lodge Penrith is a dedicated Memory Support Unit with long-serving care staff who provide compassionate, specialist care for people living with dementia.
There are four separate households, each with between 14 and 22 residents. Uniting Homemakers ensure that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable. Household Living – our innovative approach to care – empowers residents to live their day, their way, just as they would in any family home.
What you’ll be doing in this role
- You will be a clinical leader in the service, and you will develop, deliver and evaluate resident care plans to meet the individual needs of our residents
- You’ll need sharp clinical assessment skills and will take the lead in providing clinical services
- Get to know each resident and become a fundamental part of their life
- Play an important role in making sure the care provided meets residents’ individual goals
- You’ll liaise with medical and allied health professionals and residents’ family members to advocate for clients’ quality of life
- Supervise and support our Personal Care Workers
- Practice in a holistic way, using your critical decision-making skills to lead the team.

Who we’re looking for
- You’ll have previous registered nursing experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin a career in aged care if you have nursing experience in the wider health sector.
- You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, resourceful, a great time manager, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
- You’ll be committed to contemporary aged care nursing practice.
- You’ll hold a nursing degree with current AHPRA registration.
