# Project Overview:
Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day. Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2. Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.
# Job Summary:
Bechtel is now accepting applications undergraduates in the fields of Science, Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) and Bachelor of Science (Health, Safety and Environment) to join our 2025 - 2026 Summer Intern Program located at our Energy Project (Pluto Train 2), located in Karratha, Western Australia. Bechtel's internship program was created to cultivate real-life industry interest based on hands-on experience. Many new university graduate hires began their careers at Bechtel as a student intern.
During this time, you'll see first-hand how our business works and take on tasks related directly to the construction of the project and internal initiatives, all which will give you valuable industry experience all while having a real impact on our organization. Interns work in our multidisciplinary teams, under a dedicated supervisor who will be responsible for providing you with a full and busy workload, whilst also ensuring we provide you with the best experience possible during your time with us. Interns will work a 3:1 roster and during their swing will be accommodated in the project's Red Dog Village Camp.
Our internships run as a 12-week program over the university summer holidays commencing on **24th November 2025** . This is a FIFO opportunity from Perth, Western Australia to Karratha, Western Australia on a 3weeks on / 1week off roster for the duration of the program.

# Additional Information:
_This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.). **How you will contribute**
You will:
+ Lead and coach the site HSE team, site operations and functional teams to provide and deliver agreed health, safety, security & environmental plans in line with ANZ HSE strategy and objectives
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and continuous improvement in maintenance of HSE systems
+ Identify training needs and where required, organise and deliver training, provide on the job coaching to ensure all staff understand current policies and procedures.

p>This is a rare opportunity to lead Work Health & Safety at one of Sydney’s most iconic and beautifully located hospitals – War Memorial Hospital in Waverley – in a part-time capacity (3 days per week).

A our dedicated WHS Business Partner , you’ll be based onsite at War Memorial Hospital and work closely with executive and frontline teams to shape and support a proactive, preventative safety culture.   • Review and update safety policies and procedures in line with legislation

    + Provide Safety support, guidance and advice to project team to embed a strong safety culture.
    + Support leadership in driving behavioural safety and continuous improvement in SH&E performance.
    + Champion compliance with WHS legislation, regulations, and Principal Contractor obligations on site.
    + Facilitate and monitor safe systems of work, particularly for high-risk construction and geotechnical activities.
    + The position can be offered on a Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) basis.
