The role of the Accountant within the Australia New Zealand Controllership Group requires the individual to support financial accounting in partnership with the Controllers, Local, Regional and Global Finance and Tax teams.
Role Overview:
This role requires an individual for:
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for ANZ entities and APAC subsidiaries.
- Prepare, process and review manual AR invoices.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all month end revenue recognition including intercompany service fees calculation.
- Reconcile monthly balance sheets accounts and upload in Blackline.
- Prepare and analyse financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Provide valuable insights with variance analysis and commentary on P&L and balance sheets to support decision making.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards and company policies.
- Coordination of information to auditors and responses to auditor queries.
- Collaborate with the wider finance team and other departments (FP&A, Tax and regional teams) to ensure the smooth running of financial operations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
- Assisting in the preparation of process documentation and approvals by management and other stakeholders.
- Any related accounting ad hoc duties.
All About You:
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent, preferably with a recognised accounting qualification (e.g. CA, CPA).
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar financial accounting role.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards (IFRS) and general accounting principles.
- Basic working knowledge of Aus and NZ GST, FBT and tax
- Proficient PC skills, especially Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP. Experience of working with Oracle and SAP a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate financial information effectively.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple, concurrent tasks.

In this role, you will be responsible for supplier reconciliations, bank reconciliations, maintaining ledgers, resolving account irregularities, administering expense claims, processing refunds and supplier payments, as well as other accounting duties to support the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
Reconcile supplier statements and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders; post correction journals where required
Process payments in line with company payment policies
Liaise with suppliers on rebate allocations
Assist with month-end reconciliations and reporting
Manage approvals and processing of expense claims
Work closely with the purchasing team to resolve supplier invoice issues
Respond promptly to supplier queries and manage payment schedules
Support internal and external audit preparation; assist in risk identification and controls
Monitor the Accounts Payable inbox and ensure timely responses
Participate in resource management and team support
Import purchase files from POS and Purchase Plus into accounting systems

Your Skills & Experience
You will have prior experience and be confident in a fast-paced Accounts Payable role using a large ERP systems daily. A detail-oriented person with clear and concise communication skills would be essential for this role.

Previous Accounts Payable experience in a fast-paced environment (essential)
Accounting or bookkeeping qualifications (or currently studying part-time) are desirable
Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills

**Role Title:** Project Accountant
**Role Description:** This role will provide project administration and accounting support to both the operations and finance team.
**Essential Requirements:**
We are looking for someone who is proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel intermediate to advanced) and has a sound understanding of finance and project controls.
**Desirable Requirements:** Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business
**Required Security Clearance Level:** Baseline
**Location** : Canberra or Sydney
**Weekly Hours:** 40
**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:**
1. Performs project setup/maintenance and project closure to ensure completeness and accuracy.
2. Follow company policies, procedures, work instructions, US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), statutory requirements and SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) controls.
3. Prepares and submits client invoices timely in accordance with the contract terms.
4. Review month-end reporting and provide analysis on project performance.
5. Effectively communicates with the project team during the entire life cycle of the project and provides continuous support and guidance.
6. Monitors project balances and metrics related to Accounts Receivable, WIP,
and DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
7. Management of Project Budgets, Resourcing and Forecasting.
8. Prepares project specific analysis and ad hoc reporting.
9. Liaises with other departments, clients and outside vendors to resolve cross functional matters.
10. Ensures that all deadlines are met.
11. Participates in internal and external audits.
12. Submits recommendations for improvements and actively participates in company initiatives (process, procedures, systems, and controls improvements).
