The Opportunity:
KBR is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Land Systems Division, working within the Heavy Armoured Systems Program Office (HASPO) to support the Armoured Fighter Vehicle (AFV) Branch. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to some of Australia's most strategically important land programs, including the Abrams Main Battle Tank (LAND 907 Phase 2) and Armoured Recovery Vehicle (LAND 8160 Phase 1) projects.
In this role, you will lead and deliver complex acquisition and sustainment activities across heavy armoured vehicle fleets, working closely with Defence, international stakeholders, and industry partners to ensure capability outcomes are achieved on time, within scope, and to required standards.
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 Clearance or above should apply.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead project planning, execution, and reporting for AFV acquisition and sustainment activities within CASG frameworks.
+ Develop and manage project schedules, risk registers, and performance baselines to achieve agreed milestones.
+ Provide project management and commercial expertise in the development of acquisition strategies, tender evaluations, contract negotiations, and performance management of industry partners.
+ Coordinate Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes, including stakeholder engagement with the US Department of Defense, OEMs, and compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations.
+ Integrate project management activities with engineering, ILS, and sustainment functions to deliver coherent capability outcomes.
+ Prepare and present reports, briefs, and documentation to senior Defence stakeholders and industry partners.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support KBR proposals when required.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
+ Essential: Demonstrated Defence project management experience within CASG or a related Defence environment.
+ Essential: Strong commercial acumen and experience applying ASDEFCON contracting frameworks, drafting contractual documentation, and leading tender evaluation processes.
+ Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Engineering, or Project Management (or equivalent experience).
+ Knowledge of the Defence Capability Life Cycle and acquisition governance requirements.
+ Experience working on Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs highly desirable.
+ Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across government, industry primes, and subcontractors.
+ Current or ability to obtain NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
+ Project Management certifications (PRINCE2, PMP, MSP) highly regarded.

Under general supervision, this project manager is responsible for all phases of planning and execution of various project acquisition and sustainment activities. This is a customer facing role which supports a key customer capability primarily based at the customer site in Melbourne CBD.

**Your New Role and Responsibilities**
We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a multi-year Defence program delivering an enterprise Health Knowledge Management (HKM) System to improve clinical decision-making for the ADF.
As Subcontracts Program Manager, you'll ensure supplier performance aligns with contract requirements, quality standards, and program timelines. You'll work closely with the Subcontracts Commercial Manager and Solution Lead to integrate supplier efforts and deliver the HKM System.
Using your Defence experience, you'll mentor suppliers to operate effectively within Defence frameworks and drive successful program outcomes. You'll also lead the delivery of the Australian Industrial Capability (AIC) Plan, working alongside the Program Manager to maximise local industry involvement and economic benefit throughout the program's life cycle.

+ Assess and verify supplier capabilities, performance, and compliance with contractual requirements.
