About the role

As a Senior Consultant (AI Governance) with Mantel Group you will work with other smart, passionate and skilled people. The Data & AI Transformation practice helps our clients solve a broader set of data, analytics and AI problems, from strategy to implementation leveraging our deep expertise in Data Engineering, Analytics, Data Science and Machine Learning.

Your day to day

  • Working hands-on with client and Mantel team members to define, design, build and/or deliver AI Solutions, Enablement and Governance

  • Delivering great client outcomes on Data & AI projects in commercial and non-commercial environments

  • Conduct assessments to identify AI risks, appropriate mitigation controls and make strategic governance recommendations

  • Leading a stream of work, overseeing team outcomes and with a good understanding of business context

  • Helping to define the detail behind the project, including defining sprint outcomes and coordinating team rhythm

  • Influencing and building strong trust and credibility with mid-senior client stakeholders

  • Distilling highly complex concepts into business friendly language and recommendations

  • Presenting verbally and in writing for executive level, both technical and non-technical

  • Staying across AI legislation and industry standards, and proactively sharing implications with clients and internal Mantel teams

Data & AI Transformation sits across Strategy, Governance and Implementation. You will be instrumental in creating the most prominent brand in the market associated with Data & AI offerings and helping to continuously elevate our team.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Be a seasoned consultant with extensive consulting experience

  • A strong background in working on data & AI projects in commercial environments, and are able to manage projects with many moving parts

  • Familiarity with risk assessment and compliance frameworks and the ability to analyse models detecting potential ethics, bias, security or privacy concerns

  • Proven experience in providing and implementing actionable recommendations for the responsible use of AI and data to create business value and support strategic outcomes

  • Strong verbal and written communication, including building a well crafted visuals to illustrate a compelling message

  • Solid experience in technical writing and are able to prepare clear & concise documentation for a range of audiences

  • Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at different levels of technical detail

  • Have good knowledge of how data, analytics and AI can enable a business to grow and gain competitive advantage

  • An adaptable approach and comfortable with ambiguity to provide guidance to clients on scope and direction

  • Strong time management skills with ability to prioritise workloads under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Have a self-starting attitude, be hands on, and know how to find answers and work with ambiguity

The SANS research group (Statistical Analysis of Networks and Systems) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) invites applications for a competitive 3-year PhD fellowship within the Computer Architecture PhD track. This opportunity is aimed at highly motivated candidates interested in developing advanced Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence algorithms for the analysis of Internet of Things (IoT) data, with real-world applications in air pollution monitoring, climate change, digital twins, and related areas.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with large-scale, real-world datasets collected from state-of-the-art IoT monitoring systems and participate in experimental deployments designed to maximize the societal and environmental impact of their research.

Requirements

– Demonstrated motivation to apply mathematical and computational methods to address real-world challenges

– Interest in data-driven research with significant environmental and societal implications

– Strong background in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, engineering, mathematics, environmental science)

– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

The position is based in Barcelona, Spain, and offers a pre-doctoral contract for three years.
