Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a **Network Engineer / Principal Network Engineer** to join our program team located at an overseas site in **Alice Springs, Australia. (ON SITE)**
**This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work** .
**This role requires a two (2) year commitment and the ability to successfully pass a physical and psychological exam. Ability to work odd and/or extended hours covering a 24/7 period and periodic rotating 12-hour shifts. A comprehensive overseas compensation package is offered with this position including relocation assistance.**
This role is to oversee and assist in the maintenance and expansion of the programs network. The candidate would be required to maintain existing architecture and give direction to the JR network engineers on staff. This scope of work also involves helping multiple locations establish and maintain their network architecture,
**Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
+ Designs and plans network communications systems.
+ Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
+ Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
+ Conducts testing of network design.
+ Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
+ Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
+ Troubleshooting network architecture to include network interfaces and firewalls and making recommendations for system findings and enhancements.
+ Ability to support rotational 24x7 on-call support
+ Gain a detailed understanding of systems, flows, CONOPs and advanced concepts; innovate and provide strategic direction.
+ Perform updates, patching, and baseline changes to adhere to Information Security requirements, policies, and standards.
**Basic Qualifications for Network Engineer (Level 2):**
+ Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of relevant technical work experience; **OR** 0 years of relevant technical work experience with a Master's degree; **OR** 6 years of relevant technical work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
+ Demonstrable real-world experience in network configuration and management of critical network environments
+ Familiarity in network devices such as Cisco ASAs, Routers or Switches
+ Understanding and experience with designing, writing, and implementing FCRs and RITMs - Experience with SolarWinds or other Network Management tools
+ Experience with Atlassian tools (e.g. JIRA, CONFLUENCE, etc.)

**Basic Qualifications for Principal Network Engineer (Level 3):**
+ Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant technical work experience; **OR** 3 years of relevant technical work experience with a master's degree; **OR** 1 year of relevant technical work experience with a PhD; **OR** an additional 9 years of relevant technical work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
+ Demonstrable real-world experience in network configuration and management of critical network environments
+ Experience in network devices such as Cisco ASAs, Routers or Switches
+ Understanding and experience with designing, writing, and implementing FCRs and RITMs - Experience with SolarWinds or other Network Management tools

Primary Level Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $10,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: 91,200.00 - 136,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. This position will be temporarily based out of Jacksonville, Florida for approximately 6 months for training and then shift to Tindal, Australia. Periodic travel between operational sites within Australia to provide systems support and execute hardware and software upgrades will be required.
**Responsibilities:**
Position will provide support to the Remote Quick Look (RQL) ground systems infrastructure, including
- Configuration of ground based RQL components
- Apply system-level knowledge (operating system and hardware) to diagnose issues and provide solutions
- Troubleshooting and fault resolution of the RQL during pre-flight, flight and post-flight phases of operation
- Performance of operational level maintenance
- Installation hardware and software upgrades
- Provide technical assistance to Technical, Maintenance and Engineering support staff to enable personnel to:

Ability to work odd and/or extended hours covering a 24/7 period and periodic rotating 12-hour shifts. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Northrop Grumman's **MQ-4C Triton** Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) provides real-time intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) over vast ocean and coastal regions.
