**The opportunity**
This is an exciting time for Teva as we are focused on driving innovation and sustainable growth, with groundbreaking work by our scientists at Teva's Global Research Centre in Sydney.
We seek an experienced Patent Attorney to provide IP guidance to our innovative antibody discovery team and serve as an IP expert in global research project teams.
As Director of Intellectual Property, you will work closely with our VP Discovery and local research teams to identify and analyse IP opportunities and risks and be responsible for all aspects of patent counselling to support our innovative pharmaceutical research and development. A key part of the role will be to ensure that IP issues are identified, communicated and addressed, and to capture new IP generated in Sydney or global R&D projects that you support.
**How you'll spend your day**
- Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications in the pharmaceutical field.
- Conduct patent searches and analyses to support R&D projects.
- Counsel the R&D function in Sydney on IP matters arising during discovery activities.
- Capture new IP generated in Sydney or global R&D projects, advising on experimental support and inventive steps.
- Advise on patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement issues.
- Manage patent portfolios and coordinate with external counsel.
- Support patent litigation and opposition proceedings.
**Your experience and qualifications**
- Bachelor, master's or PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, or related science fields
- Admission to practice as a US, Australian, or European Patent Attorney
- At least 8 years' experience in practice in the pharmaceutical, biotech or R&D space preferably in an inhouse role,however we also welcome candidates at senior associate or partner level from private practice Antibodies experience is essential
- Strong understanding of biotech patent prosecution in global pharmaceutical markets
- Basic understanding of development processes and regulatory pathways for biologics in the US, EU, and other major pharma markets
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills

· Industry knowledge in the Finance, Treasury, Procurement or External Workforce space.
· Account management in key accounts segments across multiple industries
· Complex sales engagements which involve territory planning, account planning, and opportunity planning responsibilities
· Deal crafting and complex deal structuring for large-value opportunities
· Collaborating with large, diverse virtual account teams working on a large scale, multi-LOB opportunities especially in conglomerate accounts
