**Who will you be working with?**
Reporting to the Global Operations Director, as a key member of the Digital Mine team, the Industrial Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of a medium-volume electronics assembly lines wherein you will be tasked to drive the streamlining of all manufacturing lines and the creation of cost-effective solutions through cross-functional teams collaboration. You will ensure that all outside soruced products are manufactured according to the applicable codes and standard.
**Where is the position located?**
Fountaindale, NSW or Brisbane, QLD (with visits to Fountaindale, NSW).
**What will your typical day look like?**
+ Maintain, report and drive improvement activities related to all operational quality matters. This will include, but not limited to, supplier quality, production process maintenance and improvements , overseeing all inhouse PPAP deliveries and and determine the ideal performance specifications and operations metrics.
+ Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between Suppliers, Purchasing, Quality, and Design teams.
+ Guide suppliers in developing exceptionally robust processes and procedures to promote efficient and seamless production of high-quality products.
+ Supervising production maintenance work and supplying technical advisory support to the Operations team.
+ Designing and developing control systems and production throughput initiatives.
+ Designing and implementing equipment modifications to help improve operational safety and reliability.
+ Investigating and testing concepts to improve existing systems or to overcome machinery problems.
+ Making parts and installing and testing machinery.
+ Carrying out maintenance and identifying and repairing faults in equipment.
+ Ensuring that technicians maintain a level of expertise within their emphasis through training, SOP development, goal development, follow-up, and performance appraisals.
+ Providing operational and technical support to the plant technicians.
+ Performing activities to improve the reliability and efficiency of plant operations.
+ Use structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root cause faults and implement related corrective actions.
+ Work with team members to ensure accurate completion and maintenance of operations related documents.
+ Perform manufacturing process audits at Digital Mine locations; issue corrective actions and following up to ensure their completion; performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
+ Review, approve, and create improvement plans for product submission packages (PPAP, ISIR, FAI etc.)
+ Assures that customer complaints caused by products are addressed expeditiously and appropriate root cause corrective action are provided to the customer and implemented within the process. Contributes to maintaining strong positive working relationships with cross functional departments.
+ Continuously evaluates materials and the processes/systems to produce them to assure best quality products at the best possible price.
+ Assist procurement with supplier selection, development, and risk.
**What do we want to know about you?**
+ Engineering Degree (Electronic, Mechatronic, or related field of study preferred).
+ Proven practical experience of running and owning a high-volume manufacturing line as Manufacturing, Process or Quality Engineer.
+ Experience of personally driving DFM/DFA discussions with supplier and engineering teams to improve the design, manufacturability and feasible CTQs.
+ Working knowledge of SMT process and understanding of PCBAs and understanding of Firmware flashing and end-of-line/Functional testers.
+ Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and simply.
+ Strong understanding of statistical process control techniques; process capability assessment (Cpk, Ppk), MSA.
+ Good understanding/knowledge of tolerance stack-up analysis.
+ Experience with reviewing, approving, and creating improvement plans for product submission packages (PPAP, ISIR, FAI etc.).
+ Ability to drive to true root cause and identify appropriate short and long-term countermeasures.
+ Strong people and communication skills, analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement efforts also essential, along with the ability to coach, and lead individuals and teams.
+ Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methods.
+ Understanding of quality tools and metrics.

At CSL Seqirus, we are driven by our promise to protect lives. As a global leader in influenza prevention and pandemic preparedness, we are investing in a next-generation biotech manufacturing hub—our new, state-of-the-art facility in Tullamarine, Victoria. This facility will be the only cell-based influenza vaccine manufacturing site in the Southern Hemisphere and will produce antivenoms, the Q fever vaccine, and both seasonal and pandemic influenza vaccines.

We are looking for an Operations Engineer to join our dynamic Operations Engineering team at our Tullamarine site. You will support the successful operation of process, plant and facilities. You will also investigate, evaluate, promote and implement methods to improve overall reliability, functionality and efficiency while ensuring the requirements of cGMP manufacturing are maintained.

This is a permanent full-time role based at our Tullamarine site and would require to be available for an on call out of hours operational support on a rotating basis.

Your Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Operations Engineering , your responsibilities will include:

  • Plant Operation Investigations and Improvements

  • Be the interface for routine and breakdown maintenance activities

  • Participate in capital projects and upgrade projects, plus plant commissioning and decommissioning

  • Be the primary contact for operation, shutdowns and maintenance of utilities, including Electricity, Deionised water, distilled water/steam, Compressed Air, Domestic Water, Plant Steam, Trade waste, Cooling/Heating Water, HVAC

  • Effectively plan and complete major facility and plant shutdowns

  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with cGMP Compliance, Quality Control and Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all Victorian and National Health and Safety regulations

Your skills and experience

  • University degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)

  • 5+ years’ experience in relevant industry within a highly automated production environment – preferably pharmaceutical/biotech (liquid filling) or similar

  • Well-developed knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and regulatory and compliance codes related to manufacturing/production/engineering (cGMP, GLP, OH&S, ISO 9002)

  • Experience with mechanical services systems, black utilities, plant and hardware for a large-scale manufacturing site

  • Knowledge of water treatment, HVAC, refrigeration, industrial steam generation, compressed air generation and reticulated site services is desirable

  • Demonstrated knowledge of parts washers and autoclaves (highly desirable)

  • Prior experience problem solving, influencing, making recommendations and planning with management and cross-functional teams at various levels

Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in facilities management, maintaining a datacenter or other critical space facility.
- Ability to prioritise in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Experience with, awareness of and adherence to physical security protocol
Preferred Qualifications

Project Kuiper is launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
Have you ever wanted to become involved in the global rollout of satellite earth stations for a high-performance satellite constellation? We are looking for a Satellite Communications Ground Engineer to join Project Kuiper's ground gateway operations team. You will lead efforts to ensure high performance ground gateways are able to continuously serve our broadband customers by assessing and improving terminal performance, and investigating faults and anomalies, including on-site at our gateway terminals when required. You will collaborate with other subject matter experts to develop the tools and procedures necessary to support this global endeavor.
This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations.
Key job responsibilities
* Assess the health and performance of globally distributed ground terminals.
* Address and remediate antenna faults, alarms, and anomalies
* Maintain and/or update antenna calibrations as necessary
* Perform software updates/upgrades of antenna components
* Design system test and verification processes and document at-scale mechanisms.
* Manage tactical interactions with partners to ensure milestones, deliverables, and technical artifacts are technically compliant with project objectives and programmatic requirements.
* Work with stakeholder teams to maintain operational terminals in sync with organizational goals.
* Develop team training plans and materials.
* Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and change control.
A day in the life
As a Gateway Terminal Ops Engineer, you will provide remote support to analyze, remediate, and maintain our gateway antennas across the world. You will address tickets generated by our automated monitoring systems; providing critical feedback to dial in and improve our systems. You will devise mechanisms and procedures to support efficient troubleshooting and remediation efforts. You may be required to travel (up to 50%) to our gateways in order to address physical problems and troubleshoot faults and anomalies. Your contributions will keep our systems capable of serving our customers. These systems provide mission critical communications with Kuiper satellites. Ground terminals include state of the art tracking antennas, modems, and innovative support systems.
About the team
The Ground Systems team is responsible for the architecture, design, build, installation, and operation of globally located Kuiper Ground and TTnC terminals. Our Ground Gateways enable high data rate, low latency communications between Kuiper points of presence and our Low Earth Orbit Satellite constellation. The team works closely with Ground Infrastructure Services, Networks, Regulatory, Payload Test, and RF Systems teams to ensure Kuiper provides a seamless customer experience.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years experience working in satellite communications ground systems and operations
- 3+ years of work experience in design and commission of radio/mobile telecommunications/RAN installations or SATCOM earth stations.
- 3+ years experience in automation via Perl/Python scripting and programming
- 2+ years of network integration experience in troubleshooting and on-site support.
- Ability to solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
- Ability to write and review accurate and complete support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries.
