**The Opportunity**
We are now inviting applications for committed and reliable Part Time Steward/Kitchen Hand (Back of House) to join our hotel. Our ideal candidate is someone who is working in a similar role and has been responsible for washing dishes, china ware, flatware, cutlery, crockery, kitchen machinery, sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning and detailing equipment etc. This is a hands-on role and you will ensure the kitchen is clean, well maintained and organised at all times, whilst adhering to work, health, safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
**About You**
Experience working in a similar Steward/Kitchen Hand position (hotel or hospitality environment preferred)
Take work, health and safety seriously and uphold hygienic standards and practices - always
Passion for hospitality and supporting our entire Culinary and Food and Beverage team
Good communications skills
Strong attention to detail and highly organised (able to manage multiple priorities)
Collaborative and willing to help where and when required
Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
Collaborative in your approach and able to build trusted working relationships
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 14kgs without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
Willing to be flexible is essential as shifts will include days, evenings, weekends and public holidays

Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor. Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock. Ensure clean wares are stored in appropriate areas. Use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes. Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, send soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re-washing. Rack and spray all racked items with hot water to loosen and remove food residue. **The main duties and responsibilities for this role will include the following:**
+ Responsible mainly for the dinner services as well as events for assigned section
+ To ensure that operating and kitchen equipment is maintained to a good standard with minimum breakage.
+ Responsible for equipment, fridges and hygiene standards in all areas.
+ Responsible for storing all the dairy products, fish, meats, dry goods and vegetables in correct manner
+ Preparing all the mis-en-place for assigned section
+ Assists in quality control of items
**Qualifications:**
+ Completion of Chef Apprenticeship
+ Certificate on Commercial Cookery
+ Good Hygiene and food safety Knowledge
+ Safe and accurate knife skills
+ Knowledge and experience in a variety of different cooking methods
+ Desired: Experience as Commis Chef in 1 Hatted restaurant or similar environment
