**Role Summary:**
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of machines and equipment, both manual and computerized, to support efficient production processes. This role includes tasks such as installation, setup, visual inspection, and routine maintenance, while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and operational standards. The position requires hands-on use of tools and equipment, as well as collaboration with team members to ensure smooth production flow and problem-solving when technical issues arise.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Operate and maintain machines and equipment in accordance with company standards.
+ Perform installation, setup, and visual inspection of machines and tools.
+ Move materials and parts to and from work areas using forklifts or power lift trucks.
+ Ensure smooth flow of production by monitoring and addressing operational needs.
+ Assist in solving production and technical problems.
+ Read and follow route sheets, blueprints, and other work instructions.
+ Comply with all established safety procedures, policies, and operational guidelines.
+ Train and support new machine operators as required.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Requirements:**

As **Production Operator** , your mission is to directly execute all manufacturing activities associated with the production of high-quality IVD (In Vitro Diagnostics) products at Grifols Australia, in full compliance with internal procedures and international quality standards, to help ensure the health and safety of patients worldwide.
**What your responsibilities will be**
- You will follow approved manufacturing and testing instructions to produce IVD products (e.g., Reagent Red Cells, Solutions, Gel Cards).
- You will perform small- and large-scale formulation and filtration of solutions and gels.
- You will operate purpose-built equipment to dispense and pack finished goods.
- You will carry out in-process quality control tests using approved laboratory equipment.
- You will accurately record material movements in SAP R3.
- You will collect QC samples for environmental monitoring, bioburden, and serological testing.
- You will ensure cleanliness and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and areas according to SOPs.
- You will support validation and qualification of equipment and processes alongside the Production and Validation teams.
- You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and harmonization efforts with Grifols Diagnostics global standards.
- You will perform all tasks in accordance with cGMP, ISO 13485, OHS policies, and internal procedures.

We are getting busy in the lead up to peak season! As an Operator at the Huntingwood site, you will work within a team to achieve the manufacturing targets and KPIs. Your role will cover the entire site with a key focus on safe and efficient operation and maintenance of production equipment. The expectation is that, over time, you will be trained on equipment across the site and may be assigned to any of those areas as business needs dictate. The site may operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our team are on shifts across morning, afternoon and night.

+ Monitor the quality of our products;

Simplot Devonport are seeking motivated applicants for opportunities within our Production department ahead of our 2025 / 2026 season. Simplot Devonport has a proud history in the local community, with the site opening in 1942 and employing thousands of Tasmanians. With the ability to process up to 28 tonnes per hour of fresh, locally grown Tasmanian vegetables destined for the frozen vegetable market - these opportunities will contribute to the intake, processing, packing, transport and storage of a number of crops incl; peas, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, onions and brussel sprouts.
Working 8 hour shifts across a 7 day roster (incl. day / afternoon / night shifts) with a focus on safety & quality within a modern, progressive facility - our first intake for the season will commence late October 2025.
With base hourly rates of $40.15 p/h (incl. of 25% casual loading) + shift loadings and OT, these are great opportunities to commence your manufacturing career with a global leader in food production.
**What You Will Do**
Working within our process, packing or logistics areas - Production Operator duties will include (but are not limited to);
+ Inspection of incoming raw material
+ Safe operations of fixed plant processing & high speed packaging equipment
+ Cleaning and sanitising of production lines
+ Accurately complete daily shift logs / system entries
+ Forklift operations (for those suitably licenced & experienced candidates)
+ Adhereance to GMP and food safety practices
+ Contribute to continual improvement (CI) processes
+ Work within an active manufacturing environment
For those candidates with demonstrated forklift experience - additional duties may include;
+ Safely transport finished goods between production areas of the site
+ Use of fork mounted RF systems + radio communications
+ Operate within our cold store / freezer
+ Perform pre-start checks on forklift equipment
+ Refuelling gas powered forklifts + changing of & charging spent batteries (electric forklifts)
**About You**
+ Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace
+ Ability to work a variety of 8 hour shifts day / afternoon / night across a 7 day roster
+ A current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience (mandatory for those seeking a role including fork duties)
+ Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures
+ Experience within a manufacturing, process or mechanical related role will be advantageous
+ Possess a high attention to detail
+ Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills, in addition to time management skills and the ability to work to production schedules

As a Production Operator at Grifols Australia, your mission is to directly execute manufacturing activities to ensure production goals are met and products are delivered to the highest quality standards. You will work with purpose-built equipment, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and contribute to producing high-quality In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) products such as Reagent Red Cells, Solutions, and Gel Cards.
**What your responsibilities will be**
+ You will follow approved manufacturing and testing instructions to produce IVD products.
+ You will operate equipment to dispense and package finished goods.
+ You will perform large- and small-scale formulation and filtration of solutions and gels.
+ You will accurately record material movement using SAP R3.
+ You will carry out in-process quality control checks and collect QC samples.
+ You will maintain a clean and hygienic production environment in accordance with SOPs.
+ You will follow OH&S policies and GMP principles at all times.
+ You will work closely with Production Supervisors and Engineers on process improvement and validation initiatives.
