Your day-to-day
+ Inspect all assigned suites/rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest rooms/suites, equipment, linens, and public areas are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction. Advise employees of deficiencies and instruct on corrective action. Provide adequate retraining as needed  
+ Meet daily productivity standards as determined by housekeeping management; and monitor colleagues for productivity
+ Review and update all housekeeping and other required records daily
+ Respond to guest complaints, special requests and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.  
+ Lead by example; routinely perform all housekeeping duties necessary including making beds, vacuuming and cleaning guest suites to ensure guest satisfaction.
+ Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
+ Ensure all staff are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties
+ Assist with deep cleaning projects and as a housekeeping attendant during high volume periods 
+ Ensure team members are trained and in compliance with brand standards, service behaviours and government regulations
+ Monitor performance and recommend support and HR actions in accordance with company rules and policies.
+ Maintain and order supplies and equipment in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste and maintaining "green" initiatives (example: container recycling and cleaning agents).  
+ Demonstrate a sound awareness of Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures and ensure the dissemination of information to all team members. 
+ Ensure health and wellbeing initiatives are promoted and communicated to team members 
+ Champion the identification and reporting of hazards, evaluation or risks, and design and implementation of hazard and control measures. 
+ Provide WHS Committee representatives with adequate resources including time to actively participate in the committee. 
+ Any other duties as requested by the hotel
What we need from you
+ Minimum 2 years' experience working in housekeeping department in a hotel
+ Supervisory experience and people management skills
+ Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, both internal and external
+ Ability to inspire passion, enthusiasm and positivity in the team to drive an engaged, winning culture
+ A passion for delivering superior results
+ Excellent numerical skills, time management and organisational skills
+ A keen attention to detail
+ Articulate - A great communicator, you will be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
+ Flexibility - Weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
+ Fitness - You will be on your feet most of the day with lots of bending and kneeling

About the Role

Key Accountabilities
•    Supervise and support the housekeeping team to ensure rooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest standards within allocated timeframes. 
•    Train and guide Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Public Area Cleaners to uphold service excellence. 
•    Conduct room inspections and manage reporting systems to ensure accuracy in room status updates. 
•    Liaise with reception to coordinate room changes, special requests, and guest needs. 
•    Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and WH&S guidelines. 
•    Maintain inventory and control of guest supplies and amenities. 
•    Promote a positive team culture, fostering high morale and a congenial work environment. 
•    Act as department lead in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper. 
•    Attend departmental meetings and contribute to ongoing communication and training initiatives.

Skills & Experience 
•    Proven experience in housekeeping supervision within a hotel or hospitality environment. 
•    Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and train staff. 
•    Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. 
•    Solid understanding of workplace health and safety (WH&S) practices and hotel policies. 
•    Effective communication and coordination skills, especially with front office and other departments.

Be part of a landmark hotel opening in one of Victoria's most exciting waterfront destinations! Our 200-room hotel will feature spacious suites, an extensive restaurant and bar offering, pool, gym, and meeting facilities. 
We're now on the lookout for a detail-oriented and hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to help lead our housekeeping team. If you are motivated by coaching others, driving high standards, and creating memorable guest experiences, this is the role for you.
**A little taste of your day to day**
As our Housekeeping Supervisor, you'll play a key role in the successful opening and continuing daily operations of our brand-new hotel. Here's a snapshot of your day-to-day:
+ Support the Housekeeping Manager in setting up systems, processes, and training programs during the pre-opening phase.
+ Coach, train, and mentor colleagues to deliver exceptional service.
+ Supervise, coach and support housekeeping team members to maintain the highest cleanliness and presentation standards.
+ Step in and work alongside the team when needed with a willingness and ability to be hands-on.
+ Conduct regular room and public area inspections to ensure consistency and quality.
+ Coordinate daily housekeeping operations, including room assignments and task delegation.
+ Liaise with Front Office and Maintenance teams to ensure guest rooms are ready and any issues are resolved promptly.
+ Meet daily productivity standards and monitor colleagues for productivity.
+ Monitor inventory of linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities; assist with ordering as needed.
+ Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
+ Respond quickly to guest requests and ensure service is delivered with warmth and professionalism.
+ Use digital tools such as Hub OS or similar systems to track room status and housekeeping tasks.
+ Help onboard and train new team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
**What We Need From You**
+ Previous experience in a housekeeping supervisory role, ideally within a hotel or resort environment.
+ Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
+ A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining top-tier cleanliness standards.
+ The ability to work flexibly, including weekends, public holidays and shifts as required.
+ A proactive, can-do attitude, especially in a pre-opening environment.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

**WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?**
You'll love coming to work with a team that strives for excellence day in, day out to deliver a quality hotel experience. Working as an integral part of our Hotel Services Team, you are encouraged to bring your unique personality and perspective (your X factor). Reporting through to the Manager on Duty, this role is **Part Time** requiring the flexibility to work a rotating roster (including weekends) for a minimum of **8** hours per week.
**WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE!**
We're seeking individuals who have a passion for the hotel industry and/or experience in luxury service or similar high-level customer-focused industries. Demonstrated capability of forging strong relationships, a service-oriented mindset, resilience and flexibility are key. Familiarity with Opera or other Hotel PMS is a bonus. Knowledge of the local area to provide guest recommendations is highly valued. If you hold an open or manual **driver's license** and an **RSA** , you're jumping straight to the top of the list!
