**Description**
**The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos** is seeking aTier II Network Technician to support various WAN and LAN networks. Will provide incident resolution, routing changes, firewall changes; act as subject matter expert in WAN and LAN technologies; support intra- and inter- net and other data communications systems or segments of networked system.
The job duties of the Tier II Network Technician are as follows:
+ The Tier 2 network field technician will support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices.
+ Respond to and resolve incident tickets
+ Draft and implement standard network change requests
+ Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), and coordinate and install new equipment)
+ Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory
+ Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
+ Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), Port Security, and Thin Configurations)
+ Perform COMSEC custodian duties, ensuring the proper handling, storage, and safeguarding of cryptographic materials in compliance with U.S. Government Polices.
+ Maintain accountability and inventory control of COMSEC equipment, keying material, and related documentation.
+ Support the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of encryption devices, including TACLANEs and other secure communication equipment.
+ Support network security operations, ensuring COMSEC integration aligns with overall cybersecurity requirements.
Requirements
+ TS SCI with Poly
+ Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years, master's and 10 years, bachelor's and 12 years, associates and 14 years or HS diploma and 16 years.
+ Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
+ Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals
+ Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts
+ Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes
+ Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience (CAT5, Single Mode (SM)/Multimode (MM) Fiber, Serial cables, Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP)
+ Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models
+ Knowledge of Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS), Juniper JUNOS, and the Brocade and Foundry Operating System (OS)
+ Familiarity (doesn't need to be a SME) with Layer 3 protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP), Multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), Language Server Protocol (LSP), and Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE)

You will work closely with both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution in association with Technical Program Managers.
Key job responsibilities
- Working closely with our Network Engineering & Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products.
- Managing work priorities through ticketing system and workflows & collaborating with various stake holders to remove project obstacles.
- Troubleshooting networking, routing and inter connectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low-level application interaction.
- Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment.
- Completing customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system and project management workflows.
- Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Reasonable additional hours required as part of the project delivery requirements.
A day in the life
A normal day involve working inside a data center installing network equipment and cables, managing vendors, and negotiating deadlines with program managers. You will be responsible for running multiple projects at the same time.

Basic Qualifications
- IT diploma or equivalent in computer hardware, computer science, information systems or related field.

The Opportunity: Our team is seeking a Field Service Systems Engineer to join the Navy Air (NAVAIR) Solutions Group to deploy and maintain Australian Commonwealth Triton Mission Control Systems. This position will be temporarily based out of Jacksonville, Florida for approximately 6 months for training and then shift to Tindal, Australia. Periodic travel between operational sites within Australia to provide systems support and execute hardware and software upgrades will be required.
**Responsibilities:**
Position will provide support to the Remote Quick Look (RQL) ground systems infrastructure, including
- Configuration of ground based RQL components
- Apply system-level knowledge (operating system and hardware) to diagnose issues and provide solutions
- Troubleshooting and fault resolution of the RQL during pre-flight, flight and post-flight phases of operation
- Performance of operational level maintenance
- Installation hardware and software upgrades
- Provide technical assistance to Technical, Maintenance and Engineering support staff to enable personnel to:
o Interpret technical manuals and drawings
o Evaluate logistics products and resources to identify deficiencies or recommend improvements o Assess operational communication system configurations
- Evaluate maintenance practices to identify maintenance or training deficiencies that may be improved through hands on on-the-job training and informal training; and troubleshoot failures and recommend corrective action.
- Work 38 hours per week, averaged over a four-week period, single shift coverage, with maintenance shift schedules and crew rostering aligned to meet the requirements of the Australian Commonwealth.
- Provide technical leadership to junior engineering personnel across the customer organization associated with RQL system.
**Required Education and Experience:**
- TS/SCI w/Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; or
- Associate degree in a related field and four years of recent specialized experience; or
- A high school diploma and eight years of recent specialized experience.
- Current US Department of Defense 8570 Approved IAT II or higher baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent/higher). Must be obtainable within 90 days of start.
