**Here's a snapshot of your day: **
+ Performing preventive maintenance activities
+ Performing emergency / break down electrical maintenance as necessary to support site operations.
+ Installation and replacement of electrical circuits, components.
+ Accurately using measurement and test equipment.
+ Accurately completely maintenance records and other paperwork
+ Work collaboratively within the team and across the departments
+ Resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimize interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns / failures.
**The Ideal Candidate will have: **
+ A-Class Current Australian Electrical trade qualification. 
+ Experience as a Service/Field/Electrical technician with demonstrated experience in servicing and maintenance of technical equipment for commercial business.
+ Experience with Fire/Security/Controls
+ Contractors Endorsement an advantage but not essential
+ Problem-solver and ability to diagnose issues in a disciplined and methodical manner.
+ Ability to understand control strategies and systems in order to make assessment and recommendations for enhancements and efficiencies.

**THE ROLE**
The Maintenance Electrician functions as key member of a multi-skilled team to safely and effectively maintain facility infrastructure and critical systems at OASIS. The Maintenance Electrician provides a professional service in the execution of technical repair & maintenance of all assigned facility infrastructure equipment. This includes elements of planning, organization, coordination, scheduling, training, mentoring, and resource management associated with the day-to-day maintenance of the facility.
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the efficient and timely identification and completion of maintenance work tasks and ensuring high levels of service are maintained. This role also ensures that the Maintenance Electrician completes repairs and maintenance of all equipment in a manner that maximizes productivity and equipment reliability.
The Maintenance Electrician is a member of a small team of experienced tradespeople responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of multiple system components and equipment that supports both mission and routine business operations, as well as responding to unscheduled repairs. Within this team, the Maintenance Electrician must contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the implementation of improvement initiatives and technical advance as well as having the ability to think on their feet and complete assigned tasks to a high standard.
This position works closely with the Facilities Operations Team, other Facilities Maintainers and OASIS departments to foster, promote and maintain best-practice standards and enable reliable, consistent and effective maintenance and operation of facility systems. This role is key to the success of the broader O&M team and thus also works closely with all Facilities O&M personnel in the delivery of high-quality facility O&M services.
**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Operate and maintain facility infrastructure, systems and equipment.
+ Effect the day-to-day operation and maintenance of allocated facility infrastructure, equipment and systems.
+ Execute rapid and reliable response to abnormal facility operational situations and emergencies, including equipment repair when necessary.
+ Effectively liaise and communicate with peers to ensure best-practice standardization, coverage and continuous individual and team improvement.
+ Monitor and facilitate the update of technical drawings, panel schedules and equipment operating procedures.
+ Maintain a complete and current working understanding of all relevant facilities infrastructure, equipment and systems.
+ Install new electrical equipment and infrastructure as requested.
+ Any other reasonable duties as requested.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Essential**
+ Australian candidates must hold and be able to maintain an Australian "A" Grade Electrical License,
+ US candidates must hold and maintain a minimum of a US State Journeyman's License

Simplot is committed to developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople and prides itself on providing a supportive training environment. As part of our 2026 apprenticeship programme, we are seeking highly motivated applicants for the role of Apprentice Maintenance Electrician.
Commencing in Jan 2026, this role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to learn an electrical trade and to work with a unique range of equipment at our Kelso based food manufacturing facility. Upon successful completion of this 4 year apprenticeship, the Apprentice will obtain a nationally recognised qualification - Cert III Electrotechnology.
Simplot Kelso is our seafood and snacking processing plant, producing approx. 50 tonnes of product daily (75 SKUs) for the retail and foodservice markets including Birds Eye, I&J and Captain's Catch branded products. The site employs approx. 120 local employees, with approximately 95% of manufactured goods consisting of either Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) seafood.
We strive to give our Apprentices the leading edge in developing a diverse skill set in the electrical trade. With base rates of up to 58% higher than the applicable award, and Simplot providing the successful candidate with a tool kit as a gesture of welcome - we ensure our apprentices are set up for success from day one!
**What You Will Do**
Working as part of our highly skilled Maintenance Electrical team on a Monday-Friday day shift roster - this apprenticeship will focus on all facets of the electrotechnology trade within a busy FMCG environment. Duties will include (but are not limited to):
+ Contributing to safety initiatives to achieve a 100% commitment to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace
+ Learning industry best practice for both preventative maintenance & breakdown repairs of electrical equipment and control systems
+ Attending mandatory blocks of TAFE for the duration of the apprenticeship
+ Problem solving & fault finding
+ Use of a variety of hand tooling
+ Use of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
+ Developing a skill set in process automation and instrumentation
+ Interaction & collaboration with wider Maintenance / Engineering & Production teams re: maintenance activities
+ Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives
+ The opportunity to learn about, and undertake complex electrical maintenance tasks with a range of plant & equipment incl;- Conveyors- High speed packing equipment- Freezer tunnels- Pumps- Gearboxes- Fryers- Pneumatics
**About You**

+ Ideally you will have successfully completed a school based electrical module e.g. Cert II Electrotechnology
+ Possess a genuine interest in electrical, electronics or control systems / electrical coding
+ Demonstrated problem solving skills with a hands-on approach

+ Intermediate IT skills with Windows OS
+ Hold Australian citizenship or PR (we are unable to consider those candidates with a temporary visa)
+ Ability to commence full-time employment in mid-Jan 2026
+ Possess a driver's licence (or hold your Learners Permit with a look to obtaining P plates in the near future)
+ Demonstrate solid communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people and cultures
+ Ability to commit to a 4 year apprenticeship
+ Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screen)

Your role as the Wind Farm Field Service Technician will see you interface regularly with the Service Managers, Customer, internal technical team, other GE Onshore wind farms, contractors and the local community. Joining the resident site team in performing scheduled and unscheduled servicing of wind turbines and site infrastructure, undertaking tasks including annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchange and fault finding.
Based at our Bodangora Wind Farm Project near Dubbo NSW. Opportunity to also work at the Crudine Ridge Wind Farm in NSW too.
Wind Turbine specific training will be provided to the successful applicants.
**Job Description**
**Essential Responsibilities**
+ Interpret the requirements of GE manuals, specifications, bulletins, and complete assigned tasks in accordance with GE work instructions.
+ Perform and ensure the proper maintenance and fault finding of assets.
+ Maintain reports using GE's various software management tools and databases.
+ Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the organization's JSA, LOTO, EHS and associated policies/procedures.
+ Report errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systems.
+ Submit enquiries to Engineering to ensure technical issues are resolved.
+ Answer questions from Management, Engineering, Sourcing and Project Teams as required.
+ Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections.
+ Form part of an on-call roster to work weekends or after hours if required or as directed by management.
+ Perform High Voltage switching operations according to site procedures, as required.
+ Be familiar with and follow all EHS policies and procedures applicable to the job and cooperate with GE investigations and EHS audits.
**Qualifications/Requirements**
+ As a minimum, either a qualified electrician or a qualified mechanic with electrical aptitude.
+ Electrical License - Grade A would be highly regarded (but not essential).
+ Proficient in fault finding electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
+ Trained to an intermediate level in computer skills.
+ Must have positive attitude and the ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights and be willing to climb wind turbines.
+ Must hold a current Australian Driver's license

About the role
We are seeking an experienced optical or Laser technician to join a specialist team, working on one of the organisation's key operational programs. Reporting to the Repair Facility Manager, our Technicians address the client's routine and ad-hoc maintenance requirements a suite of Night Fighting Equipment (NFE) products.
The primary remit of this role is to carry out assembly, calibration and preventative maintenance activities on precision optical test equipment. Your activities can include but not be limited to conducting technical inspections and level appropriate repairs to allocated units, supporting root cause failure analysis investigations, providing technical day-to-day support across the NFE product range, ensuring repair part stock levels are maintained and supporting quality control activities as directed by your lead.
